room 1 start hardcore then hhc then hardtrance and/or trance/psy room 2 break then dnb and finish electro so this brings more and more ppl and everyone has it for his taste but fot the hc/hhc party its not THAT bad as idea but i prefer more styles than 2 rooms at 180bpm or we could do a party with room 1 house and room2 hiphop and bring BENNI BENNASI voyon ca serait telment lfun =) le gravity c bon mais tu met pas de headliner dan la 2 eme room ... coome des personne on deja fait c trop petit .. tan ka moi ja fermerrait ou jmeterait du ambiant pour ceut ki sont passed out |

And that brings me back to what I was saying : 15 different styles a night. Look, you just can't go ordering a pizza with ONE slice all-dressed, ONE slice pepperoni & cheese, ONE slice veggie, etc. Bottom line is you CAN'T please everyone as much as you wanna try. There are those who think it's genius, others will bitch at how lacking styles your party is. There's no way around it. And I applause those who can really pull it off but personally, I don't care for 2 hours of hardcore followed by goddam psytrance. KE_Rakoon says he doesn't want to pay 20$ to hear 50% of a style he likes. With these types of parties, he might be paying 20$ to hear 10%. Even worse. Raves are so few and far between that promoters feel like they have to have every style humanly possible in one night to sell tickets. Well you don't have to. Either you throw a party of a style that's hot now ( psytrance or electro for instance ) or you throw an all-out " we're playing full on hardcore mofo and there ain't nothin' you can do about it " party with a style that's been lacking for a while. Believe it or not, it WILL work. Look at Biological Project 2 : main room, 80% acid techno. Dead style, right ? Mark my words : the place will be PACKED. Why ? People haven't heard that style in a while. With fewer just hardcore or happy hardcore parties, at one point people CRAVE IT like mad and will pay good money for an event that will assault their eardrums all night. Otherwise you're reduced to patching up bits and pieces from various events around town all year. " 2 hours here, an hour there... ". Well that's my own 2¢ between 10h and 11h and then my own 5¢ from 11h to 12h and then my own 3¢ from 12h... |

its has to have a progression, start hard then finish smoother but i like 1 room raves better like room 1 only why couldnt it work ... its as stupid as trowing parties with trance in the middle and speedcore at the end ....(and ive seen it often) but yeah anyways ppl will bitch even if you do a 1 genre party " its too hardcore" ... ect ppl will never be fully satisfied ... so why not try to get a bit of everyone taste not only 20 ppl.... as tipsy would say .... "if you know what i mean" |

| Coolness: 144975 | I gotta agree with pixelized. There's nothing I hate more than going to a hardcore party, and suddenly hearing trance. Would anyone consider doing a show with a punk band, a death metal band, a rock and roll band and a glam rock band? No, that would be ridiculous. I think it's the same with electronic music.
I think a room should always stay around the same theme. For example, stay hardcore all night, even if it's different kind of hardcore. You wanna have different styles, then have different rooms. |

| Coolness: 159200 | Good point Le D. I wouldn't pay 60$ to go see U2 play for an hour with Garth Brooks before, VNV Nation before that and Ashlee Simpson to begin with.
Why would that shit work for parties, honestly ? I'm guessing by the end of the year, people will be tired of those multistyle parties and would prefer hearing more than an hour and a half of a style they really like. |
