the beer was eriks? then why did i hear you say "I like to have a beer before i play" to her?

water might not be illegal, but it's their establishment and they can refuse your entry for any reason.

try walking into most movie theaters with a pizza in your hand, what do you think they're going to say?

and yes, IF the theater wanted to they could require bag searches, since it is a private establishment and you don't *have* to enter.

REMEMBER EVERYONE: everyone that was searched was not forced into the search, you all had the ability to say "no" then walk out of the club. since you all allowed the search to happen, tough shit.

Greg i think you're trying too much these days ...
always busting out 10 line+ comments , talkiN' like a real oldschool party promoter and all ...

sorry but what do u know about all this really ??

not saying i know anything .....
also this aint a confontration, dude i respect u and all that and i'll be sayin' hi to u on the streets and play @ your jam with a smile and all that jazz ..

just saying u might be taking too much of a *serious* point of view on a topic you probably dont know much about

boycott gravity ?! whoa great idea, then no secure venue left ...

lets stay ghetto and unprofessional forever dropping jams in sketchy places and get busted by cops like i use to do for 3 years ......which was fun but useless in the end ..

oh, and , much love y'allz
dont ever take my opinions as hardcore or serious, we're just discussing ideas in here ...

IS gravity the ONLY place to throw a rave in Montreal? No. Plus, as I stated, I merely agreed with someone elses idea to boycott the G, it wasnt my idea to begin with, berate and chastise that person first, before moving on to the person who agrees with them. I'm 30 years old, I've got the right to take sides if I want. I'm not taking it bad, I like you lots Seb, you're super cool guy.

I have just watched a number of promoters spend massive amounts of money to throw events at gravity and aside from one or two, they all lost money.. its sad that on top of that the staff there treats us bad and possibly steals from us. Not to mention the water/drugs etc issues..

The venue ought to have the right to set a few guidelines for the event, but the promoter ought to have the right to give direction to the venue on how to deal with things as well.

In case you were wondering who threw out the word "boycott" first, it was me.

Staff working with the public (ie: frisking, coat check, bar, whatever) should have a minimum level of respect for their customers. Seb, if you get a customer at work that asks you about a CD while your busy, what do you think would happen to your job if your answer was "Fuck off, I'm busy"?

And what if someone came in with a purse, put it down, and then someone else FROM THE STAFF goes through the bag and gives away things in them to other people in the store? What would happen to that person? What would happen to your store?

Sure, yeah, let's forget about all of this and support Gravity like sheep because it's the "only" place left to throw parties and let them go on and abuse their power and show a complete and total lack of respect for everyone that goes in.

I refuse to turn a blind eye on my FRIENDS and fellow partiers, just for the sake of having a place to throw more parties where people can get dissrespected and can get their things stolen.

you don't need to throw a rave at gravity to lose money. And I don't see why being 30 years old has anything to do with anything.

I'm not saying to boycott the place but for sure they have to get their in house dealers to not steel people's bags... People have the right to not have their bag in the coat check especially if they are helping out with the event and might need something in their bag like a camera, laptop, or anything else one might need.

A "floor manager" is the guy who restockes the guy who is selling pills next to the bathroom. It's the way the system works, you can't have someone with too many drugs just in case of a raid so you hide them in a safe spot and make sure anyone carring anything always has the minimum amount of stuff needed so they can sell but if they are caught it could almost look personal. So lets say for the lighting guy (example) who is hidden away keeps the stash in his computer that he uses... Now the guy near the bathroom runs out of stock, so the floor guy gets resupplies (from the light guy) and gives it to the guy selling... This way there is a little train of movement and it's very very hard to any undercovers to actually find the "real dealer", you only get the "peons". The train can have many many pieces on the back of it...

Becides resuppling the dealer near the bathroom the floor guy steels people's bags and gives the stuff inside of the bags away because it makes him more confident that he is the ultimate power in the club. It also makes girls think he is cool because he can bring stuff into the back and check it out. The floor guy normally makes about 1,000$ cash a week.

It's worked like this for ages, it's a great system and it works since for anyone to get close to the "main guy" you have to have been involved for a while. And the club of course gets a % of the profits with zero risk since they can always claim they didn't know anything about it (even though anyone can look around for 5 minutes and figure out whats happening)... Look for a white cap plus a basketball jersey and you can normally find the "peon"...

As for taking water away when you enter, it's an afterhours and people might have GHB in there. I'd say take the water away if it's open but if it's closed well then it's an issue of money.

As for pills, it's not unheard of for the staff to take them and get the in house dealer to resell them. If your going to bring in a pill then hide it well or take it before getting in. I don't think people need pills but if you gotta do it then people should be free. Good security will not care if someone has a pill on them and let them keep it. Good security should only be concerned about people bringing in stuff to sell because people should not be taking drugs anyways. They should also be concerned with people bringing in weapons or else maybe there could be a little gang drug war going on and no one wants that.

Now is an in house dealer a good thing? I say not... If someone does not bring something with then then don't push it on everyones face "hey do you want a pill", cause personally I don't wanna hear that all the time and anyone who does not bring anything probably does not wanna hear it either. If someone wants something they will find you or preferably a friend who probably sells a pill for 10$ and not 30$ because they don't care to make money from it (or a lot).

As for alcohol, I believe the djs should be allowed since at all the other events djs have always had alcohol behind the dj booth normally supplied by the promoter. In this case I told the djs to bring their own. Anyways this could be delt with and was delt with in a good manner. I like how the old sona was with a bar and also the afterhours...

As for turning off the cold water this is being rediculous and it really isn't legal. Thats worse then turning off the air conditioning which has been known to happen and no it's not an accedent the cold water was shut off, it was because the location wanted to sell more water. There is no excuse for doing this. None at all.

WOW, thanks for the tip mate !!!

No, seriously, I think I know how to search a fuckin law by now, I'm just curious to see if people have something to back up their arguments, especially when they talk about "the law"...which, between you and me, doesn't mean fuck all...

So I'm still waiting for the name and article of the so-called law...;)
