make a meeting point like the old school raves and tell people the location... it might take an extra 30 minutes to get to the venue but it will be safe... i did that with our parties and never had any problems... the last one i did i was stupid and didn't do it and the cops came before the party even happened! good thing we had a 2nd location... parties will rock forever! can't wait for the next renegade party also! we have some new abandoned buildings in store!

another possibility is to reveal the location on an email mailing list. but in the case of idj supposedly it wasn't the party they were targeting but rather the venue itself, if i understood galaksy right.

The venu was a recording studio in a commercial building, so problem one would be that a LOT of non-industry people wouldn't be allowed in and no one is supposed to be in a commercial building after a certain time unless they are doing work, which we weren't really doing. :)
There was also something about selling beer if I remember corectly.

The cops were sent by the landlord because of the ones who are renting the venue were in troubles before....They didn't pay the rent in time and totally and they were throwing parties without the agrrement with the landlord,SO, the guy decided that this night was too much ,cut the water off and called the cops ....BUT,since the IDJ crew ,including me,was getting really mad and kept on yelling at 'em (that wasn't a good move,we should have just shut up because they weren't in for us...),now they might check us more.....But the info-line got changed and the 2nd location was given the same night and they didn't even show up,so they're not so much on a c ase again't IDJ parties...but we gotta watch our ass still.Fred,Noah,Ze'ev,Noemi, your comments are all wise and inspiring and i thank you all for your positivity and willing to help. The main thing we're gonna work on now is to ALWAYS do it in private-residential venues, not in any commercial-musically zoned venues 'cos this is the main thing the cops are looking for...They'll probably show up to our next events for sure now,a cop told me they would,SO the plan is to make it as legal as possible,in private venues.Maybe it means there won't be any alcool at the following events,or we need a license for selling it,and then have everyone's I.D. if they want to buy alcool, and close the bar at 3 absolutly...I'll work a lot on making it safer,so that if the cops show up they have nothing to find us guilty of.I'll check for alcool license,i'll call the Fire Department,i'll talk to a friend of mine who's a cop and hope that everything will be working out...Losing the possibility of selling alcool wouldn't be so bad according to me,rather lose that than the party itself.People who wants to drink a lot could go in bars before and show up at 3,and we would sell only water, juices, ice tea, soft drinks or whatever...Or in private parties people have the right to bring their own booze and stuff....More news comin',a lot of work comin' too...My heart is fully devoted to bring you the best IDJ's possible up to come because you IDJ partiers are incredibly nice and your support's inspiring me so much.I want you to keep on In Da Jungling every month in safety.Anyone who wants to help in any way or has suggestions-contacts,e-mail me at djgalaksy@hotmail.com. Big respect and love to you all.By staying united and positive, things can only grow stronger and better.P.L.U.R. Seb aka Galaksy aka Sebastard aka Ganja Selectah

I have been to a couple of IDJ and I have had a great time. Yes once I noticed the cops coming in I knew it was a matter of time before they closed the party down. I was very happy that I had taken my bike even if I looked weird changing in & out of my biking gear. I personally like the fist location, but the vibe at the second location just kicked ass. People where sitting talking and just having fun. Yes the music got lots of people dancing too. I even put faces to names on a couple of people that I had seen at other parties. Seb I loved your set (nice energy though out it). Nice seeing Cloak (Catherine), Spooky, and other people. When I left the party Spooky was sleeping away on the couch even with music goingJ. Even with the fuckup dealing with the location huge props to the people that made this party very intimate and fun. Even I noticed some sick tracks being spun that night. I am not missing the next IDJfor it is my sit and listen night for me. Still have no clue how to dance to Jungle D &B, but loving the styles.

Lee
I have to say that i enjoyed the bike ride from the two different locations:)

...so I *WAS* sleeping... But when/how did I leave?!
Someone? Did I get a lift somewhere? Did I leave on my own? I'm really a little confused as to how I went from being on the sofa in IDJ to waking up at 8pm in my bed.

Sam,Odie (Sixteen Armed Jack) is on the ragga-tip,but fuckin' hard....Same style of track selection as Krinjah, but even harder...He's gonna fuckin' kill !!!! He's one of the few ragga producers in Canada alongside Krinjah...And also MISS BLISS is excellent, she plays ragga-old school, it's gonna be a delight in the morning....Get ready to party for hours and hours then....NinjaSam !! Ganja Selectah and Da Ninja Hardsteppah (energy exchange for my whole set this time ????)

wicked, just post up the lineup and what not as usual. i'm planning on arriving between midnight and 1am as usual.

-double A & twist
-saseone & gnat
-mc sylla

seb, these were like the first guys to expose the sounds of Dnb to me back in 98 (not a long time ago i might add) at a rave called Connected (514prod).
what ever happened to them? i remember seing their names on flyers all the time. i know double a is in halifax (doing what?) and sase one is still alive in the scene. gnat is representing hardstepper crew in t.o ? jordan dare spin electro now...

im just bringing this up cause i remember quit vividly my first time dancing to these sounds. i had this headbanging/karate-chop looking dance i had going on at the time.

when was the first time you heard jungle? maybe i should ask this on [ montrealjungle.com ]

Sam,for your info ; Twist=out of business since a long time. Double A= no longer plays drumn'bass, studies in Halifax=gone, Jordan Dare=electro dj,no more drumn'bass . Gnat= lawyer in T.O.,still plays (more funky-Brazil style thought) but not really active. Mc Sylla= still around here and then. SASE ONE= still on fire !!! The best ! I've heard jungle first with Amon Tobin and the more cerebral side of it all....and ragga jungle in the first parties i went to (the first one was called 3d and Manu le Malin was playing there in the hardcore room,t'was lonnnnngggggg ago).... Sase One has really much inspired me to go further into drumn'bass and eventually i started mixing....Is that cool with you Sam ??

cool. i was curious cause im just some kid in the south shore that was a hardcore gamer for a long ass time before i came out and party.

i used to buy shitloads of magazines and read about music but somehow the music wasn't acessible. it didnt get to me until very much later but the progression was natural.

i remember the first iDJ i went to (2?-3? it was at accomplice's crib) was almost random.

Totem and Galaksy on the ass-kickin' nu-school buzz to make a balance in things.....Whatever anyway its only in a whole month...
