religion wasnt INVENTED... the lightbulb was invented. also, this: I dont believe that christians should support gay marrige.
Christian Marrige is about reproducing and since gays can't do that why allow it? Many other religions support gay marrige, why do they need the christians along there with all the others? Im not against gays, or them being allowed to get married but fuck, what next? they'll be asking for their own olympics? was an excellent comment. it's true. CHRISTIAN marriage is about reproducing. Why should Christianity allow people who can't do that to get a religious marriage. There's a difference you know. My brother is married by law, but not religiously. Religion does NOT need to support gay marriage. That's the problem of the state. Religion and Government are two separate entities. I can't understand why people always get them mixed up. You're all idiots. Also, why is it ok for regular non-religious people to be fucking morons, but as soon as someone with any type of "religious" ideals to act dumb, ALL religion is completely horrible. In the middle ages, everyone was a dumbass! Not just christians. |

Religion is only here because that we are conscious that we exist. Why are we here, why is the sky blue, what's death, etc.. questions we didn't have the answer (and some we still don't "have"). Why do Inuits had there own gods and shit when the white man arrived in America, it was not the same gods at all, but they needed someting to answer there questions. It was always like this. Also, if you just think a little bit, Jews, Christian and Moslems are praying the same god. But each religion think they are right. It's like, if they think they are all right, how can you be sure that you are right? If so, how can you be sure that one of them is right? BTW, Quebec is a laic State, but it could be more, since we still finance churches, and religious schools and we still have a religion courses in school, which we really should not have in a laic state. And also, there's still a lot of countries that are religious states. Iran, Israel, Afghanistan, some countries in south america have the religion in their constitution. And even in Quebec history, 50 years ago, Church was in the government, so don't say that we're all idiot, church still have too much influence in the government. BTW, in the middle ages, why were everyone dumbass? Because they were not intelligent? No, not at all, mostly because of the Church, which was controlling everyone's life. I don't really understand how people can believe as much as this in a religion. The history of religions are quite disturbing, and even if it's past, they thought they were right at this time as they think they are now. Hell was an invention of the Church in 300-400, a bit after the fall of Rome, and purgatory was invented in ~800 to give more hope. Isn't ironic to think that Church still uses theses terms today? As for gay marriage, I think it's hypocrithe for religion to refuse to marry gay couple. "Being gay is legal" and it has been proved that it's normal and blahblahblah. So, when the church say "save the family, don't legalize gay marriage", it's like saying, gays should not exist, they bring nothing and it's not natural. The family, there's a lot of married couple that don't and won't have children, so why should they be married? Just imagine that 2000 years ago, Rael was born and at the age of 30, he would have started to say "we come from another planet, and our ancestors said that we need to have sensual sex everyday, be united, women for everyone!". A prophet is only someone with a new idea, even if he calls this a vision, it's only someone like this stupid rael that think he is right and preach his vision has he thinks we should. oh well, I think that the next pope should say that contraception is important, because it's so fucking hypocrithe for a bunch of old mens that never fucked in their own life to say that sex is only for reproduction. |

 Coolness: 134300 | religions are a guidline to be lived by,you pick the religion that best suits the kind of moral's and ideal's you have.we should just study the litterature and not focus on the figureheads ,like popes and nuns and Minister's,they cloud the issue and more often than not cloud the real message.Pick up all th ebibles read em',and choose the one that best suits you.And only listen to someone who is not pasing around a collection plate,knowledge is free. |

 Coolness: 201255 | dinosaur: the problem is the STATE does not recognize gay marriage, and it is mostly due to pressure from fundamentalist religious groups, mostly Christianity... Don’t forget that only about 30 years ago it was basically illegal to be openly gay in the USA and Canada. |
