| You can make it clean and pretty at the same time though.. |

| exactly. that's what makes a great designer. |

| when i design a site usability is always at the top of my list.
important info should be in big letters and very clear. stuff that you access frequently should be prominent and don't display more info than is needed. |

| the structure is relatively clean right now, in terms of the outer stretchy area. The event list is temp from the previous structure and the central stuff is also very temp and simple. I'm thinking of using a horizontal scroller for tickets and an iframe in the center area so that the outer file will always fit your window. As it is now, the center content can force you to scroll downwards which is something i dont want to happen on the far right edge of your window. :D
This is really very early still guys.. how does the navigation look on the left so far? |

| I like sites with a white background an straightforwar info and links.
I have so much research at school that i cant waste time on fancy-shmancy sites.
But thats for research, if its a site for a business then i like artistic designs and flash |

| flash can be really annoying though... especially if you frequent the site often |
|
Coolness: 200565
| my favourite part of any flash site is the "SKIP INTRO" link at the bottom. |

| item a: it depends on your target audience. educational sites are not promotional sites and promotional sites are not portfolio sites and so on.
item b: aesthetics is important. its how you adapt them that will make or break a page. if you're trying to sell a site that looks like it belongs on geoshitties, you're not going to pull in much interest (though im not referring to the psychonaut page in particular)
item c: balance balance balance. the best corporate sites have a clean aesthetic to them that factors in navigation, content and a good aesthetic. ford, for example. or at least ford when 2advanced was doing ford. that site was the epitome of goodness by my definition.
scottyp: i was trying to be a prat. apparently, i've failed miserably. onelove. |
