Capitalism is sub-optimal?
How the fuck so?
Got any better suggestion?

Because if you do, you should forward your great discovery to the WTO right away.

-has classes

communism's cons:
-no inscentive. at all.

capitalism might not be the best since it divides us into classes, but at least it works.

I agree with Ian. If capitalism doesn't work in Quebec, Communism or any type of socialism certainly won't work... Look at all the people on BS already sucking off the system. It isn't the system itself that is flawed, it's the people! If everyone put effort into finding and KEEPING a job then it would be a totally different story. I work hard, I make decent money, but I work for it. I didn't get anyting spoon fed. And I don't complain.

I see society collapsing because the rich is getting richer, while the rest of the people are getting more and more debts. Eventually we will not be able to support the economy, because the cost of life will increase more than the average salary.

Capitalism is based on competition. You need a good balance between cooperation and competition. We are going towards an economy like the States has, and it's not good. We should have a more social democrat capitalism, like in Scandinavia.

Capitalism has to change, return to it's roots. People would be much more productive and less depressed/burned out (especially professionals), because they could work in small/middle sizes companies, instead of everyone being sucked up in a few oversized companies.

And employees shouldn't be working for the boss, he should be working for himself. Employees should be the workers and the owners of the business.

Obviously this is not possible on a short term, but it will have to go into that direction eventually.

Our world is controlled by economists. I don't trust people who only knows numbers and how to make profits to assure the future of this society.

I don't even know how communism got on the topic.

And for your information, I work 45 hours per week, night shifts. I wouldn't call myself lazy. This is not a complain on my personal status, I see this problem from a social point of view.

sorry to tell you this, but there have always been:
-rich people
-poor people

things aren't getting worse, they're just as bad as they've always been.

They've always been like that...in the Western civilization. And in Asia probably too, altough they had a very different way to do things. From a social point of view, the natives americans like the Mayas for example, were much more smarter than us.

Their culture is pretty dead. And I believe that the Western civilization has it's advantages. There is no "better" society, they all have goods and bads. It's a matter of taking all the good and put it together, so we have an optimal society. If our society is not perfect, then there is room for change and improvement.

People died for you to be able to whine like a pussy. Have a little respect. And the native americans played death-lacrosse... real smart.

Canada is freakin 3rd on the HDI index, behind Norway and Sweden. Quebec is Canada's most social democratic province - we might as well be in Scandinavia. Like thousands of others, my granfather died at the hand of a nazi in operation overlord to protect our civilization and way of life.
I dont think it sucks and anyone who does deserves a swift slap.

If i'm a whiner, you're a crybaby.

I don't see the link between your grandfather and me wanting a better society. We are third, and we should be proud of it, people like your grandfather did died to protect our way of living. I have many family members who gave years of their lives because they believed in our country, and they were lucky to come back alive. And i respect all of them. But we might be one of the "model" countries, but we have to reinvent ourselves, improve constantly. This is not only true in society, this is true everywhere. A business that is n.1 in it's market has to change, to make sure it doesn't get old. It's the same thing for us. Reaching the top and staying on it is two things. What's with wrong with evolution really ? The way we live changes, it always does, so let's make sure we go in the right direction.

Whenever native had to take a decision, they ask themselves how it will affect the future generations. The Europeans had a much shorter vision of things, which resulted in a faster technological evolution, but society never managed to follow it.

The bottom line is that the SAQ strike was a sham organized by lazy Quebec workers (who capitalized on the fact that liquor is a provincial matter - thus getting shitloads of attention) whom I would enjoy sending to Sierra Leone for a month or two. I guarantee you that they would never whine again.
Or just ship them to work at Provigo and do the exact same thing but work even harder for 7.50$

yeah, cause no one gives two shits about flowers, so:
a) they wouldn't be making $17/hr
b) when they went on strike, they'd all have been fired.
