| Coolness: 201360 | I doubt unix geeks are going to buy a computer that can't be upgraded. This system was obviously made with the casual user in mind, hence the low price point and limited expandability. It's too bad Apple doesn't make any monitors anymore that cost less than twice what this system does....
But as an internet terminal and casual multimedia station this looks like a good computer... I think Apple has woken up and come to their senses and realized tbey could easily tackle tbe casual home market by offering a low priced system which is easy to use and won't get snuffed out by spyware within 2 hours of being online. |

I'm in computer Science and i talk to a lot of computer users, many of them use Linux a lot, and they all very much find OS X to be a great OS. B) I've owned 3 PCs and 3 Macs, out of those 6 computers i've done video card upgrades, ram and HD.. never have i removed a CPU or Mobo and replaced it, doing so would waste a perfectly good CPU/Mobo.. the same goes for a mac, why would you upgrade a CPU when you can just buy another computer? How much does a new CPU and Mobo go for? high end: $600-800, mid range: $375.. wow. totally worth the wasted money. quit talking out of your ass all the time. |

b) how do you upgrade the video card on an integrated motherboard? How do you add another nic to a computer that has no pci slots? ect. ect. ect. c) I've upgraded the mobo/cpu on ALL my systems I've ever had... The only time I ever bought a complete new computer was when I bought my laptop. I had no problems selling the old equipment. Maybe your parents should inquire on getting a refund on your Comp Sci. education? |

It's a perfect computer for grandparents and computer illiterate morons because there's nothing to fuck up physically and the OS/software for it is practically spyware/popup/virus-proof. |

I wouldn't mind having one of these for everyday tasks myself even, it's nice to have a computer that you know is not going to get destroyed by spyware/worms... Even though I know enough about computers that my PCs are clean. |
