Raves? Dead?
Never! Raving, like polyester, fruitcake, and afros, will never die out. It'll just get more and more embarassing. |

Bah, it's a culture, it evolves, just like us. People just need more ideas, new stuffs... Maybe new technologies? Or just go back to underground parties.... Underground parties? I guess that right now I'm in a underground party with my kitten family, listening hardshit and stuff that you don't hear in commercial places. :smokinG! For sure I don't posses the power of a commercial kicker monitor, but you know, my can of 7up is making the job. And for the lazer, shit mate, is that important when you move? when you speak to yourself into mouvement? When a certain communcation between the floor (sensible) and your mind deployed a reaction onto your skins, your soul, you really don't need lasers, lights sticks, costumes and stuff... is it all false need, a conditionnement, state of mind. For sure it is hot, glam, fancy and cool. But come on, l'habit ne fait pas le moine. And for the Ideas, the ''new stuff'' is it already around and everywhere. People hang to what they like, what they love. Not to what they try to love, or try to like. ;) Le D...
Going to a rave is no longer something special. You don't feel priviledged when you rave. No longer. That's why the vibe isn't so "magical" anymore. It's been commercialised now, it's more accessible, but less exciting, and the hype is pretty much over. hm...sad that you don't danse! and what's about being priviledged? by whom? Yahvé? Allah ?...Friends? Damn eat your muffin and be happy! KCMLNOP a vie yo Mickos
bla bla bla RAVE IS OVER OVER OVER OVER OVER OVER OVER ? In your little conception of things; yes it is. > |

No way the rave scene has not been replaced by the emo scene, although it is interesting to note how many ravers listen to emo/rock/*real*pop music these days.
I think the 'rave' moved to the club. Every major DJ out there is playing at a club now, and booking them for raves is harder because the budget for a rave promoter, and a night club promoter/owner are quite different. The rave scene has definitely declined, at least in the cities I have been in...London, Toronto, Ottawa, but the post above me points out, it's definitely not dead....it's not quite what it used to be though. |

I believe that the raves are far from being finished, on the contrary the scene evolves more and more, years after years I would say... |

I BELIEVE a DJ kills the rave scene by accepting a deal with an afterhour or "big" promoter. What they (we) should seek is quality and not quantity. People are unwilling to accept change because they fear it and what might become to them and "their" fun towards the whole scene. Fuck this... I'm too tired to write anything coherent. |
