| "Crash" is Cronenberg, not Lynch =p
Lynch is a brilliant director, but that doesn't mean his films are neccesarily enjoyable for all..it all depends on whether you enjoy a good mindfuck. |

| Ian & Dino, can I ask you what director do you think would fit the mould as a good director? |

| Just because it doesn't follow a conventional timeline doesn't mean it's random crap. His movies make perfect sence to anyone who's mind is expanded above the standard 'tough-but-good-guy gets wronged, goes after the badguys, shoots people, blows stuff up, fucks the sexy woman who spends all movie showing off her cleavage, then SHE gets kidnapped, so he shoots more people and goes after some big boss and blows him up.' |

Coolness: 685815
| Really? 'cause I totally don't see the part involving Jeffy H, midget transexuals and a tub full of crisco... |

| the type of people who say that David Lynch is insane or that his movies are impossible to understand are film illiterates - people who's idea of the perfect movie is something along the lines of "Independence Day".
The coolest thing about his work, i think, is how crazy good his female lead performances always are (isabella rossilini in Blue Velvet, Sheryl Lee in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Naomi Watts in Mulholland Dr.)
If you put a bit of effort into watching his films, Lynch can really get inside your head. Sometimes i feel like i'm stuck inside a David Lynch movie, then i realise it's just the drugs. |

| well lindsay pretty much summed it up.
if you do drugs, he's a good director.
good directors in my book: Terry Gilliam, Michael Mann, and Ivan Reitman just cause he's made so many funny movies. |

| actually I think watching one of his movies on drugs would be a very confusing and terrifying experience |
|
Coolness: 339890
| heh, depends on the user i guess. |
|
Coolness: 201450
| Well I mean his movies are very complex and require a lot of brainpower to follow |

| In grade 5 I wrote a book report on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I related it to a re-imaging of the temptation of christ. Just because you aren't capable of looking deeper into a movie than everything that's spoon-fed to you about the plot doesn't mean that there isn't a hell of a lot more behind it than you think there is. |

| It's one thing to dislike Lynch's films. But to claim they make no sense is a sign of either mental laziness or outright stupidity. |
