How To Take Pictures At Raves

Hey guys,
I'm going to my first rave tonight, and I want to make the experience memorable with pictures (I'm a nerd, what can I say?). Any tips on taking pics at raves? Like, hold the flash, or, make sure there's no bright lights behind the subject, or don't run with a fork in your mouth? Well, thanks anyways! -Tranci |

Take lots of pictures of people with glowsticks, people with vicks smeared all over their faces, and TONS of blurry picts. |

the blurry images will emulate your lack of visibility from the drugs during the night. weeeee |

Def thumbs up on the no-photo option. You're fist time should be just a memory (or a variation of a memory). If you bring the camera, you'll lose the moment trying to scope for good shots (and you don't know what those will be). Pic rarely turn out as you intended, and usually dissapoint. Have fun with it.
Country Boy, right on the money there! ROTFL! |

I love taking pics at parties even if it's with a shitty ass camara...
Personally I'd recommend avoiding flash as much as possible, although it's hard to take shots without it in many cases... |

Depend of what type of cam you use.
(digital= no hints) but with a manual Pentax, Minolta or whatever the cam, youshould first get a night film that will make gain brightness ( like 400 ISO films or Delta 3200 if you got money and a cam that can handle it). Although, you should open widly the diaphragm if you want to take a net image of someone dancing by lowing the opturation speed (1/500° or more). If you want to have a clear shot of the crowd (clear in depth) close the diaphragm greatly (16, 22, or more) but be sure that the opturation time is slow (B up to 1/8----->at those opturation speed you should use a stand tho )...What ever, get a book or go back to school. |

if the party is outside, wait until sunrise to take pictures. those will be the best pics with the best light.
sometimes, people who take pictures with a flash on the dancefloor at night can be annoying to those who dance. |
