STOP AT POT!

The editorial about the war on drugs being a waste of time is really
getting tiresome. The subsequent column by Jon Ferry made much more
sense.

The people who say the war on drugs has been a failure so we should
just give up are the same extremists that want to turn safeinjection
sites into safe-inhalation sites where people can smoke crack at the
taxpayers' expense.

That is absolute nonsense.

We should decriminalize marijuana, but legalizing crack or crystal
meth would be completely irresponsible.

I once heard John McKay from the VPD say people claim we've lost the
war on drugs so we should just give up. His response was, do we also
give up on child pornography and legalize that? How about murder?
Murders still take place. Do we legalize murder? His position is sound.
