Yeah, I hear what you're saying about the calendar... I've been using it for a while. Thing is that it's hard to gauge what is good besides how many people are going and there is definitely a bias towards certain things. There are so many clubs listed with 0 people attending and it's not as though nobody is going =D It's just hard to tell what's good. I like to go somewhere with a good amount of people, especially cause I like to dance and dancing on an empty floor feels, well, weird.

I'll be checking out Jupiter room and Blizarts next week I think. If you see me (applies to anyone of course), say hi, cause I have to meet more interesting people. The people I work with think that watching Lost is a HELL of a way to spend a Saturday night.

Thanks for the input. I might check out the blizarts thing tonight. I just wanna say thanks for hosting the night at Vinyl. It's a shame that it wasn't more busy than it was. I would think a nice intimate space, beautiful bartenders, cheap drinks, and breaks would be a winning combo =D

Any more suggestions would be very very welcome.

SO yeah... I'm sort of new to Montreal and I just can't seem to find many clubs that have something for me on Fridays or Saturdays. I COULD try out every club in the city, but it's much easier just to ask here:

Basically, I want something that's walking distance from downtown (say like 45 minute walk is max) which has electronic music other than house and has a decent amount of people. I'm mostly into breaks, elecro, and dnb but I'll dance to anything really. Although, I am not a huge fan of house (different strokes and all).

I really like the KO nights at petite campus, I love Neon events, and I used to go to the breaks night at Vinyl. Something similar would be awesome.

Thanks in advance!

Put me down for positive. Most of our perceptions are wrong, especially mine, and can certainly benefit from being fucked with, from time to time.

Simple thoughts on religion:

You can SEE the sun. It makes you warm and and is responsible for what we eat. Also, it feels nice.

I've never seen Jesus, not even in a tortilla. He doesn't bring me food or make me feel nice (although I am sure that some priests would like to try on his behalf).

Where is the competition exactly?

If I HAD to choose a religion, besides sun worship of course, it would HAVE to be The Hare Krishna mantra. Those guys can carry a tune and some of the girls are cute. Seems like a nice life really.

Aaron

Edit:

I just read this: "Most serious 'Hare Krishna' practitioners live according to strict rules. For example, initiates take vows to abstain from all forms of recreational drugs and intoxicants (including caffeine), from eating meat, fish and eggs, from gambling, and from all sexual relations except for purposes of procreation within marriage. For non-initiates how many of these rules to follow is left to one's own discretion, but these four 'regulative principles' remain as a standard."

Fuck that.

I personally think that everyone should try MDMA once. Not that I do drugs.

GHB feels just like being drunk, only slightly more euphoric and dizzy. A normal dose is about 3-4 grams, depending on the person. The main metabolic product is C02, the same thing that you produce when you breathe. After taking a normal dose, it can take anywhere from 10-40 minutes until effect and will last for anywhere between 2-4 hours. After 4 hours, there is only a slight residual effect. In solid form, GHB appears waxy and will sublimate over time. Necessary dose does increase with use, but not hugely. We are talking about going from 2.5 grams to around a max of 5 grams. Personally, I feel that the effects of GHB are preferable to those of alcohol as there is no hangover and it's rare, with proper dosing, to be uncomfortably inebriated. Not that I do, or have ever done drugs.

Warning: Start with a small dose for first time use, probably around 2.5 grams. Do NOT re-dose if you feel no effect as this will most likely lead to nausea and vomiting. Never purchase or ingest a liquid dose that you did not prepare yourself from solid (wax) as you have no way of knowing the concentration. This last point is especially important as GHB can be dissolved to a higher concentration than 1g/mL of water/aqueous liquid. Do not mix with alcohol or other drugs, ever, under any circumstances.

GHB is NOT a date rape drug. Even a tiny amount will make any drink taste like absolute ass (even a drunk person would notice) and the effect of mixing G and alcohol is constant vomiting, not submissiveness. Remember, the world's number 1 date rape drug is and always has been alcohol mixed with bad judgment.

Point of interest, one guy suggested mixing with juice to cover the taste. Sugar actually dulls the effect of GHB. I suggest a small amount of tea, and drinking in one gulp.

In response to Shaiguy:

Virtually any synthesis of a safe chemical compound will require reagents or solvents that are toxic. These are eliminated either by conversion to product or removal strategies such as rotoevaporation, etc. GHB will not solidify properly if it is not sufficiently pure.

PM me for more info concerning the effects and pharmacology of GHB.
