Drug Experience Overall, Positive Or Negative?

Drugs can bring good things to life: fun, extraordinary experiences, mind opening, increased performance...
In the other side, we know it can have bad long-term effects: body and mental health problems, credibility loss, money loss, ...

I wanna know how you feel about all the drugs you took during your life. Would it have been better not to? Talk about your experiences. Is it more positive or negative overall?
I'm feeling honky-chunky right now..

to be able to ponder it, you have to stop for a long time whilst living a kinda fulfilled life...
for my part, i realized it brought good things to me (the ones you listed above), but also bad things :
-little health problems (heart unstability, longer recovery from fatigue, nasal and oral mucus damage, sore muscles, ... all in all, it makes your body age faster)
-mental matters (lack of memory ability, memories loss, moderate paranoia and more erratic reasoning, and above all : difficulties to find interest in "normal" things, since i've experienced so much exciting and mysterious and unbelievable things... kinda like being jaded from normal life : i've been to paradise but i had to stick to something looking like hell after coming down from a 2-year trip, which is a very harsh thing to force oneself to do)
-and of course it costs money, and makes deep communication sometimes more difficult with people that haven't experienced the same things as you.

overall, i think it's positive, because i take the time to identify the benefits and drawbacks, and i solve the problems little by little... but don't think that i mean that it's ok to do drugs for years as you can fix the damage done afterwards : it can be a daily pain do to that, and i don't think everybody's able (nor even willing) to work on those problems, or even to notice them on themselves. moreover some damage is irreversible (like accelerated body aging, for example).
i think that as long as you use drugs to know yourself better (and having fun at the same time), you'll be able to reduce the damage done during and after your experiences. but stop for several months at some point, just to get some deeper and more accurate insights.
I'm feeling phd powa !!! right now..

indeed, that's what (for example) speed does... kinda time travel with the mind but not the body (or the opposite, depends on how you see it)

that's a good comparison! With speed, you really live faster, like you're consuming your time faster than usual. And your body also lives at the same rate. You borrow your time from your future. You live 24 hours in 12 but that's 12 hours less to your life.

I love drugs and my life wouldn't be the same without them. I'm also tired of people who are high and ashamed. Once you've tried it, you're hooked for life.
I'm feeling awesome right now..

maybe you should try to live a few months without them, you'll see the difference and the damage done... not necessarily hooked for life, fortunately enough, but you're missing lots of things with drugs (such as deep thoughts and longer life)

if it can make you feel more comfortable...

by 'deep thoughts', what i rather meant is : coherent and structured reasoning that you can control and push far into abstraction levels (e.g. logics and maths)

as for 'longer life', i hope you're aware that you're mostly a bunch of cells with a limited lifespan that descreases with abnormal amounts of toxins (such as the ones contained in cigarettes, party drugs (speed might be one of the best examples), ...)

"you're mostly a bunch of cells" : by 'you' i meant your body, don't take it as a spiritual insult... ;)

by longer life, i meant i could wind up in the hospital for being emo again or get hit by a car tomorrow.
it's one of the arguments on drugs that has the least effect on me :/

I'm not high 24/7 either. And besides, when you take drugs regularly (without abuse), and then take a break, your lost cells start to regenerate.
I'm feeling awesome right now..

fallacy ! :P
"i don't wanna plan anything for my future, even 2 years ahead, because i could die tomorrow or even in 2 minutes"
et puis tes escapades hopitalesques sont terminées maintenant, tu sais bien que t'aimes trop la vie, n'est-ce pas ? :)

I think the fact that drugs can make you lose (or burn) cells is an urban legend...
