Digital Mystikz are a dubstep production duo (consisting of Mala and Coki - when the two started making music together as teenagers they were known as Malibu and Coke) from the South London suburb of Norwood.Along with Loefah and Sgt. Pokes, they operate the DMZ record label and host the influential bimonthly nightclub DMZ, held at the Mass club complex in Brixton, London. BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel was an early supporter of Digital Mystikz, eventually putting them in his annual 2004 Top 50 list at #29.

They are among the scene's most famous producers. Their song "Anti War Dub" appeared in the 2006 film "Children of Men", although it wasn't included in the soundtrack. In the summer of 2008, Mala was chosen to headline the night portion of the Sonar Festival in Barcelona. In April 2011 Mala travelled to Cuba with Gilles Peterson who was returning to Havana to produce the second instalment in the 'Havana Cultura' series. While Peterson recorded new material with local musicians, Mala began work on a new album "Mala In Cuba", which was released in September 2012.

KID KOALA

Kid Koala is a world-renowned scratch DJ who has made a name for himself not only with his music, but also with his visual art. He has released three solo albums on Ninja Tune: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (2001), Some of My Best Friends Are DJs (2003), and Your Mom’s Favorite DJ (2006). He has also been involved in collaborations such as Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, and The Slew.

He has toured with the likes of Radiohead, the Beastie Boys, Money Mark, John Medeski, Mike Patton, Jack Johnson, DJ Shadow, and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. He has contributed to scores for director Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World as well as director Rian Johnson’s Looper and has composed music for The National Film Board of Canada, Sesame Street, the Cartoon Network, and Adult Swim. His unforgettable live shows range from silly touring turntable carnivals like Short Attention Span Theater (featuring turntable bingo) to quiet-time events like Music To Draw To.

Following up on the success of 2003’s Nufonia Must Fall, Space Cadet is Kid Koala’s second graphic novel.

He lives in Montreal with his wife, 2 daughters and pet shrimp Amanda.

Craze's life is a legacy of rags to riches, geek to chic, no-name to world fame. He never had it easy from fleeing battle in Nicaragua at the age of 3 to a geeky adolescence to Hurricane Andrew hitting Miami in 1992 nor did have ever have any coattails to ride; his is a story that's an uphill battle, but a story that ends right at the top. "My mom always taught me I could do anything I put my mind to. So when she asked what I wanted to do with my turntables, I told her, 'Be the best DJ in the world,'" Craze casually laughs. And that he proved 3 times at the DMC World Championships, an unprecedented record, and a title that no other solo DJ has yet to match. While Craze is regarded internationally and unquestionably as one of the best scratch DJs in the world, it's still astonishing to see his overwhelming number of titles on paper: Craze has won first place for the USA DMC Championships in 1998, World ITF Scratch Off Championships in 1998, ITF Western Hemisphere Scratch Off Championships (1998, '99), Winter Music Conference Scratch Off Champion (1996, '97, '98, '99), East Coast DMC Championships (1997), East Coast Rap Sheet Championships (1996) and Zulu National Championships (1995, '96), to name but a few. Additionally, DJ Craze claimed 2nd place in the first DMC Team Championship with his Allies' crew (which included fellow champions A-Trak and Infamous) in 1999 and then in 2000, the Allies' won the Team Championship title, taking it from the previous year's winners the Scratch Perverts.

Botnek are a DJ/production duo from Montreal, Canada.
Their unique style and productions take influence from dutch house, jump-up techno and afrobeat music.

Already the duo have had the support of names like Crookers, Sidney Samson, Kissy Sell Out, AC Slater, Annie Mac, Congorock, Larry Tee, Malente, Mixhell, Douster, Willy Joy, Sinden, Mason, Hostage, Don Rimini, Neoteric, Tony Senghore, BeatauCue, Supabeatz, Foamo and have had several of their tracks premiere on BBC Radio 1's feature program "In New DJs Trust".

They won a remix competition for Dim Mak Records, for Felix Cartal's single "Skeleton".
Their first EP "Plonk" is set for release in May 9, 2011 on Discobelle Records.
Following that will be the release of the "Kingdom" EP on Top Billin' Records later this summer,
and being featured on the upcoming "Fried and Tested" compilation on Southern Fried Records.

The duo have also completed remixes for AC Slater, Malente, Kissy Sell Out, Dooze Jackers, and BeatauCue

Botnek are currently booking their first european tour in support of these releases.

Drop the Lime is Luca Venezia, one of those people whose identity is intrinsically connected to his hometown – New York City. And while many have only just heard of the magic of Drop The Lime, Luca has been honing his craft for years. From humble beginnings in a gospel choir to a childhood obsession with 50s rock’n’roll, the 26 year old has been experimenting with sound for years. His influences range from Brian Eno to rockabilly (he’s well known for his 50s doo wop and soul sets) to Sonic Youth to Wu Tang. Yeah, jungle stand for the dresscode theme (animal party). We just got the pictures from our epic party last Friday [ www.nightlifemagazine.ca ] check them out. And, the legal capacity of the Havana is 150, so it should be reallly crowded.

À la grande surprise de tout le monde, et à la mienne aussi, le Qlimax a fermé ces portes samedi dernier. Néanmoins, la soirée se donne toujours. Mais, elle se déroulera le 30 janvier (samedi) et au Havana (1429 Crescent au coin de St-Catherine). La place ce trouve à être beaucoup mieux que le Qlimax (même prix d'alcool, même cover, meilleur systeme de son, éclairages, térasse chauffée). Alors, attendez vous à la grosse débauche avec Doozy , VNDL et Élo!i.

With the great surprise of everyone, and the mine also, Qlimax closed their doors last Saturday. Nevertheless, the event is still happening. But, it will be held on January 30 (Saturday) and at the Havana (1419 Crescent at the corner of St-Catherine). The place is much better than Qlimax (same alcohol price, same cover, much better sound system!, lightings, heated terasse). This will be a really dirty night with Doozy, VNDL and Élo!i.
