Yamaha 03D Digital Mixer - This mixer is unlike any other mixer I have
seen. I practiced on it's brother, the 02R at RAC, they have one in
their corner studio. It has clean, high quality sound, on board effects, on
board compressors, equalizers, surround sound mixing, automated faders
and the most effective MIDI control of any mixer
EVER. I can't believe i'm letting this one go for half the price I
bought it! I am also going to include a trackball and ADAT expansion
card which gives it another 8in 8out for a total of 26inputs! It is in
A1 condition and also has the original packaging.

700$!!

Kaoss Pad 3 - My favourite FX unit is also on the list. 128 FX
programs with 4 sample banks, tap tempo, midi in/out. The simplest and
most effective FX for the performing musician.

300$

Oberheim Midi Arpeggiator - Weird and hard to find music device. Nothing else like this little known series of midi arps. [ montreal.craigslist.org ]

150$

heh, yeah forgot about the new shadow album.
actually, amon tobin does sample!

I use an MPC for my samples. have you ever used one of those? fucking sick...and there is a lot of creativity to putting samples together. Trying to find those two or three melody samples that make a song is part of the fun.

Ok, I agree with you if you're listening to music like DJ BRADSTAR - EMINEM VS. THE MONTREAL CANADIENS MEGA BRITNEY MIX but the fact of the matter is, the entire culture that this music came from is built on sampling.

Hip hop is what you choose to listen to.

Are you installing to the correct folder?
Are the ableton VST settings using the correct library? (I know a lot of macs have multiple library directories...)
Have you tried refreshing abletons library?

XII : THE HANGED MAN

The Hanged Man is one of the most mysterious cards in the tarot deck. It is simple, but complex. It attracts, but also disturbs. It contradicts itself in countless ways. The Hanged Man is unsettling because it symbolizes the action of paradox in our lives. A paradox is something that appears contradictory, and yet is true. The Hanged Man presents to us certain truths, but they are hidden in their opposites.

The main lesson of the Hanged Man is that we "control" by letting go - we "win" by surrendering. The figure on Card 12 has made the ultimate surrender - to die on the cross of his own travails - yet he shines with the glory of divine understanding. He has sacrificed himself, but he emerges the victor. The Hanged Man also tells us that we can "move forward" by standing still. By suspending time, we can have all the time in the world.

In readings, the Hanged Man reminds us that the best approach to a problem is not always the most obvious. When we most want to force our will on someone, that is when we should release. When we most want to have our own way, that is when we should sacrifice. When we most want to act, that is when we should wait. The irony is that by making these contradictory moves, we find what we are looking for.

The airfx is fun, it's really a toy. A very good toy though. I kind of enjoy it as something simple to use and it's great for any time when you're making music with others...It definately needs a FX volume or wet/dry though, sometimes the effects are rather drastic. I just like how everyone goes "hey, whats that!" and whats to try it out.

the sci lead kinda feels like going through a car wash.

really really fix those high ends on the manson sample....it could take a good sounding track and make it stellar. maybe make it go on a bit longer before the next break? it felt kind of empty after the sample is taken out. Some serious work on the high ends of the sample, maybe a bit of flanging as well and you'll have a really great track. Did I mention that you should do something to the high ends of that manson sample? I notice that you used the samples in two different segments, and it sort of breaks up the track instead of making a remix that highlights the original song, gives credo to it's producer and takes your talent adding to the original production. I think more work with the original sample is key here.

on a purely artistic level, I would make the melodic bits at the start and end more thematic, and bring them into more of the song to soften the transitional elements. Kind of like how a uni student uses big words and run on sentences to fluff up their essay :D

Thanks for the song, i'm sure many dj's would love to add this track to their psytrance arsenal.
