Krista was part of the DNA records crew, played a lot with other locals like Rob Brown, Tiga etc.. She was really known in Montreal for her sounds as a breaks and house dj, though she did mix other stuff as well. She did a lot of the Channel events locally and played at groove society as well as sona and playground. A really sweet person and a kickass dj, I've got nothing but great memories of her sets.

As for Double A, well, he was one part of a two man crew known as Double A and Twist. They were huge influences in the Montreal Dnb and Jungle scene and dropped on the regular at parties and bar jams between 93-99. They also were part of the original DnB Sessions, weekly's at Angels and Le Dogue, both quality dj's and dope people too.

IMHO good dj's can rock a crowd, great dj's can control a crowd to it's last step. Hard work and perseverance pay off eventually. It's not just about beatmatching, it isn't just about selectah, it's about the mastery of both, added with the creativity of efx and cuts etc...

Some people are dj's because they love the music, some people are dj's because they love the attention, but in the end, a true leader and pioneer walks alone, following the rhythm of his heart and the voice of his soul. Fakeness can take you far, but the journey is hollow and it's merits are empty.

Trade bookings can do wonders for the scene in cross promotion between crews, and even in some cases, talent discovery therein, but they should never be the backbone of a dj's intentions, music should.

whether you are a promoter or a dj, the only that can eventually give you the success you crave is HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE, but in the words of Levar Burton, "you don't have to take my word for it"

The option is available, a personal decision can be made, it can be devastating but it can also be for the best of all parties concerned. I don't think that anyone should morally judge or placate this option if they are not concerned, as it is a deeply personal one. The ramifications of this type of decision reach far beyond the scope of what most of us can understand, even if it is the desired action, this type of decision can run very deep into someones life; as can the alternative. In the end, there are only so many scenarios that could really make someone appreciate the option, and far less to make someone take it for granted. Religious and uninformed or bias views may deplore the existence of this procedure, but like so many others, this procedure really only concerns those who chose to take it, period.

We let people make decisions for us every day, and freely accept their judgments, but as a people of the 21st century, we have the ability to make some seriously personal ones that we have never had before, and for that, we should be thankful and respectful.
