I was experimenting with the 2 genres and I find it nice that it brakes the 4/4 pattern and that it gives a bit of a brake between the techno. Let me know what you think.

Ok guys I'm going for the radio show with one of my friends on techno.fm which will air on Saturdays around 3 to 6pm (time not yet confirmed 100%) and will hit the time line 9pm to 1am in Europe(+6hrs) which is a super exposure for you. We have in mind to promote the Montreal techno scene to the world(so they know we exist). Where is Alize? I would definitely help out. the style should be around Adam Bayer, Sven Vath, Old Marco Carola, Surgeon basically the good old school techno and hard tech with a new flavor. BTW Tekno is pretty much under hardcore from 170 and up, I was surprised my self of this. One other thing I'm now negotiating a bimonthly show on techno.fm where my friend and I will play interesting blends of techno + guests and live streaming from remote places. it's still up in the air but I will keep you guys posted.

I have 2 x Numark TT1 10% pitch and one TT2 10-20% pitch, both have reverse play back mode, 33/45/78rpm and digital display and are direct drive. In Really Good condition, I am the first owner and took really good care of them. I'm selling the TT1 for $220 or $400 for the 2, TT2 for $250 or the 3 for $600. Ttables are without needles though you will get the original factory accessories/Headshells (for your needles) with each ttable and dustcovers + used manual. Good deal for what you get.

There will be a party on the 28th next saturday at my friends new loft I'll be performing a live hard tech set. The event name is the industrial monster (In the calendar). He has a wicked custom sound system with a concrete shaking low end : )

I agree keeping it hard techno only can be a bit limited though keeping it so we don't affect other nights that would play a specific style and work with 135bpm and up there are many between 120 to 135bpm. I would say tech house, techno (detroit...), hard tech and schranz. I personally would not go over 160 bpms. There is a lot of hardcore and other faster styles out there just not enough hard tech. So styles around hard tech + getting visuals and I mean good visuals not that colorless stuff with some lame layers looping for hrs that are not even synchronized with the music ...@@$#$%#$%#!!!

I'm working outside of Montreal from monday to friday(where I work there is a dial up internet only, sucks) so I'm only in montreal from 8pm friday to monday morning. which is a bit hard for me to be a head organizer for friday night. I would not mind doing it and helping. I'm good sound tech, I am reliable, can dj and make live perfs and can vj and have some gear to assist with if in need except a projector (I can borrow one once in a while though not on regular basis )

Ok it seems to be a good idea to make a weekly night (probably a 2x a month to start with) Does anyone know a good place where it could happen or an idea?

I made a typo in the hard tech it was suppose to be hard tek. Hard Techno should stay between 135 to max 150bpm. I'm happy to have started this post kuz it gave me a good idea of the whole image. + it helped my got some things clarified. Thanks guys for your input

Yeah I guess it is all what people want it to be... really hard to have a solid answer. So hard techno/Hard Tech from 140 to 220bpm and let's leave it at that :P

there are noticible sonic elements and timbers that will define it to be Harh Tek, hardcore, gabbar,... and sometimes it so combined that it's just hard to say.

I don't think there is a difference between hard tek and hard techno. Just an abbreviation .. well nowadays you just don't know what is called what. If MC Mario can call his sh..t techno??!!!

This is what is interesting there is so much interest towards hardcore (btw I like hardcore) This music music can be more irritating than hard tech over a longer period of time just because of the speed 160bpm and up. When I play hard tech at 145 bpm I can get comments like; too hard, too fast or can you play dancing queen... jk :p

well there are 2 possibilities; There are more people which like music in the 135bpm & down and 160 bpm & up or people just forgot it which is really possible.

We have the Techno Channel Techno.Fm that plays hard techno and want to bring it back also Dj Destro/Marshall and his Noisefloor prod. since last year are trying to bring Techno back.

Yaz use to be in techno as I remember. Didn't have much news about him lately though it's true that he was more on the tech house side.

As we all know techno is not doing too well lately in America so I am curious to find how many dj/producers, fans and ... are still out there. Especially in the Hard Techno here in Quebec.

I don't think he stopped producing we just did not hear about him and many others as techno hit the bucket in America. [ www.myspace.com ] There is a crazy amount of hard techno newbies in Europe and it is climbing. Not like here sadly : (
