I own the Blue Kiwi and it is my favorite mic ever: Modern tone, low mids are smooth and they don't sound like a cardboard box. The hi frequencies are a bit brittle, but it still a very natural balance in overall.

And of course, if you get a kick-ass mic, you'll need a kick-ass pre-amp too.

No. The mic pre-amp in there are sweet but i have better one (I'm talking about Raindirk good but yeah, those extra pre-amps will always be welcomed.) its not taps but its full connekt on every chan/buss/aux strip: inserts, aux pre/post fader. she'll be used as the greatests dispatcher/matrix/ kinda piece of awesomesauce but...lots'o'fixin'it/make it work/aaw have to re-stripe again and'o'makin'al work again to do
