C'est arrivé avant que les haut parleurs amplifiés soient assez répandu. Transfo d'iso avant l'ampli, plug les "bananas" à l'envers sur le speaker ou l'ampli.

C'est maintenant l'heure d'une autre histoire d'horreur de S.A.C:

Un bonhomme se pointe au comptoir de service/réparation dans un grand magasin de musique à MTL. Il est en criss. Lorsqu'il se fait servir, il explique les causes de ses ires: "Premièrement, vous m'avez vendu une guitare défectueuse et en plus vous m'avez fourni le mauvais cable avec!" Bref le môsieu a reçu un cable 1/4' cheapo donné gratuitement avec la guitare. Il branch la guit. Jusque là tout va bien. Il voit que l'autre connecteur est identique, un peu embêté il coupe ce dernier, installe un "screwable U-ground connector", autrement dit une plug murale pour le 120V. Il branche sa guitare directement dans le mur (120V) et "PAKLOW!" the guitar is no more. les cordes ont arrachées, les pick ups ont fondu dans le pick guard et ils ont dessiné un genre de pattern "d'explosion" avec la suie de cette réaction quelque peu brutale. Notre heureux imbécile à même eu l'audace de demander si un tel genre de bris était couvert par la garantie.
Le malchik au comptoir de service reste professionnel malgré le fou rire, ayant bien sa raison d'être, pressant de sortir de l'employé. Gardant son sérieux il dit simplement :"attendez moi ici je vais aller voir mon patron et le chef luthier avec l'instrument afin de savoir si c'est couvert par garantie" sachant quand même très bien la réponse. Nul besoin de spécifier que l'hilarité dans le magasin complet s'en est suivie alors que le malchik de service se promenait en coulisses avec ce cadavre d'instrument disant à qui veut bien l'entendre "vous ne devinerez jamais quoi!" Même si vous savez probablement la réponse, l'ignorance et la stupidité ne sont pas couvert par la garantie.

Mais encore, quelles sont les références pour le mesurer? des photos? des témoins?

Bah tu lui vends le transfo d'isolation le plus cher du marché et tu lui dis d'inverser les fils de haut-parleurs arrivant dans la colonne. Donne deal!

Ou la vieille histoire du type qui a acheté un sound system complet avec mics et tout croyant que lorsqu'on mic une source sonore, le son se fait "aspirer" par le mic pour être "drainé" vers les haut-parleurs. Il a donc monté son sound system dans la cuisine, miké le frigo en esperant faire taire ce dernier de la sorte. Non mais ça prends tu un osti de mongole du calice?!

Even if the break out approach is not very appealing, I'd rock that thing a 100000 times over a stupid ass M-Audio or Presonus or Focusrite, Boooringher lil shit box that breaks all the time even if most of them have their connections on the chasis. Hell, I'd prefer to have a faulty breakout cable than a faulty connection on the chassis. Way less time consuming to change a break out cable than sending the unit to a service center. And yes it is quite common that chassis connections fails.

I use to sell tons of these Tascam interfaces back then at Steve's. The only ones that were running flawless were those installed and set up by good PC peeps'n'geeks that had time and/or alternative part for their PC and/or lots of patience. Otherwise when I would get called to go sevice 'em (or the D.A.W with a Tascam us-122, not the "l" version, never serviced them) I could get around most of the probs but never entirely. I know it's possible to get'em running perfectly. Oh well, I guess the drivers/firmware/hardware orchestration is to blame and I know there not the sharpest crew in terms of drivers dev/updates.
