I agree with you, TO AN EXTENT.

I for one am MAD disapointed that this party isn't happening and i know alot of other people are disapointed too. But i'm sure the nobody is more disapointed than JS himself. So i'm willing to cut the guy some slack, and if in fact this party is postponed or even if it goes down with all local talent, I will definetely be there in support.

Very few people start listening to rave music straight from the womb, so almost all ravers were at one point into another kind of music whether it be punk, metal, hip hop, or *gasp* even top 40!

So long as you come to a rave to spread good vibes n respect, noone should give a shit whether your sporting candy bracelets up to your shoulders, a mowhawk and spiked jacket, or just plain normal clothes. Frankly, i'm not really worried about punks being aggresive/destructive at a rave cuz its obvious that doing so is not going to get you any respect or win you any friends, while at a punk show its another story because in some ways that kind of behaviour is encouraged.

I doubt you'll be able to play more than one track of crappy Indian music before people start throwing broken beer bottles at the DJ booth. It will be alot of fun to watch, tho.

As far as I've heard, no tickets were ever printed or sold so refunds shouldn't be an issue. That said, if I'm wrong and you did purchase a ticket to this party, obviously you have ever right to bitch at JS for a refund.

True enough, but my intent on starting this thread was to generate advice for people who normally pop pills at parties who want to reduce their intake of speed/E. So while pot is a drug, it can also be part of a harm-reduction strategy for partying if it can be used instead of "hard" drugs.

I live a couple blocks from La Banquise so its a regular on my list, but every time I order a poutine there i've been disappointed 'cuz its served lukewarm at best. Otherwise, the variety is awesome, but completely unnecessary when all you want is a big plate of classis poutine to soak up all that excess alcohol in your stomach!

In general, you shouldnt be doing mind-altering chemicals unless you're in a good mental state to begin with. While MDMA has been used experimentally in couples therapy or for those with PTSD, the principal benefit of the drug is that it allows the patient to emotionally open up to a qualified therapist - just taking the drug without the proper theraputic support isnt going to solve any problems. If your friend is depressed, MDMA is definetly NOT a good idea because it will lower your friends' serontonin levels, thus probably making the depression worse - just ask people who take MDMA on a frequent basis. Of course, your friend can make whatever decision he/she wants about MDMA, but encouraging him/her to take it because you think its a magic pill that will solve all their problems is irresponsible at best.

Dance right next to the speakers, you might go deaf before you turn 30 but you'll be trippin off the music!

I hope that the promoters survived the night without taking too much of a financial hit, because this was one night to go down in the history books - the vibe at Saul's place was out of this world!

Got to the original venue shortly after the bust happened and people were standing outside freezing. Alex announced the new venue so a bunch of us got on the Parc bus then took a cab to find the new spot. At first, I was abit surprised at the size of the new place, as it seemed a near impossibility to fit so many people inside...but somehow we did it and the compactness just added to the vibe. U couldn't help but meet new people, and i had some great convos that night with both old friends and new acquantainces. Seeing international promoters play an awesome set in someone's apartment was a surreal experience, I felt privileged to be there and to be experiencing it.

It seemed like everyone pulled together and somehow managed to pull off a night with will go down as one of the best that i've had in awhile. So fuck the police, they can't shut us down!!!!!

Great post. Realistic expectations is an important point. Very few people can dance for 12 hours straight without some substance, so if partying sober means taking it easy at a party and only staying for a few hours, then so be it.

What is the best way to party all night without the use of any hard drugs? (Soft drugs like caffeine or weed are permitted). List of suggestions please.

starting with mine:

- take a nap before the party
- don't overdo it on the dance floor, take lots of chill room breaks
- two words: Energy Drinks

Actually, smoking is just as addictive as shooting because you get an immediate rush either way. And the magnitude of delay in time between taking a drug and getting high is a major factor in how addictive it is. However, snorting heroin is less addictive than either smoking or shooting it.

Of course no matter how you take heroin, you're putting your will power to the ultimate test. Heroin has defeated many more hard headed and strong willed than you. If you loose the test, you're probably going to end up ruining your life if you're lucky and dead if you're not. And most people who end up shooting heroin proabably didn't start out taking it that way. Think about it.
