god, I've got to say that it's pretty damn fun to just pick things up and throw them away

Doom3 was all about pixel shading and their dynamic lighting system. They put normal mapping everywhere in the game, THAT was special and it was showing some interesting new technologies.
even tho I didn't liked the game either

Half Life 2 is more all about the Havoc physic system and is way more gameplay oriented than doom3, that's why it's so hot.

I've been spinning acid at parties between 2k1 and 2k2, but I stopped playing at parties, didn't want to be a part of what it's becomed anymore. And I doubt people would want to book me for an acid set nowadays.
