You cant compare the Gulf War with this war. They were fought in very different styles. The gulf war took place primarily in desserts where the US forces could simply stay far enough away from Iraqi soldiers and simply use their advanced weaponry to defeat them. In this instance there was a great deal of urban warfare.

I think this war proved the incredable military might of the American government. The fact that it only took them 2 days (less) to secure Baghdad as well as 3 weeks to desrtoy the political body of Iraq is INCREDABLE! Any other nation would not be able to do so.

Also all your information about 100,000's Iraqis not enjoying their freedom and liberation from Iraq and opposing the war now needs to be backed up. From everything that i read they (Iraqi civilians) were opposed to the war out of fear for their lives but now that the US is in control the moods have been changing drastically. People are now relievd to be out of the hands of a dictator.

The next big issue is how the Western world will help rebuild Iraq. There is no telling how this will play out but I honestly believe through everything that I know about international relations that the country will be rebuilt in the intrest of Democracy.
