Bass Drive favorite REDEYZ is back!

A night of producers & DJs... this will be a Wednesday to remember.

Ottawa's dubstep don is back for his second Bass Drive appearance and we can't wait for him to rock the place!

REDEYZ

An up-and-comer in his own right, RedEyz has been heavily involved in Ottawa's rave & afterhours scene for well over a decade. From throwing successful events, to performing alongside national/international artists, it was only a matter of time until he took the next step into the production arena. Just like his DJ sets, his influences range from minimal to progressive, techno to drum & bass, deep house to electro, and of course the beast du jour: dubstep!

he teamed up with DZ in the spring of 2008 and their first track, “Call it Dirty”, was picked up by Bass Tourist Records and was released b/w DZ's “Geeks” (BTR004). The release has been battered by the likes of Sinden, Herve, Kanji Kinetic, Starkey, Bombaman, Joe Rogers, J.O.T.S. & countless others. With the immediate success of their first collaboration, the duo teamed up again in the fall of 2008 to build “Welcome to Vanier” and the off-kilt 4/4 bass smasher “Asian Cuddle Puddle”, due for release on their new digital label “Badman Digital” due in mid 2009.

he currently holds a residency with Ottawa's only dubstep monthly “Steppin' Up!” alongside Bowzer, Tsunami, Pandemic & Wobblz, and has numerous releases in the works for late 2009. Not one to be looked over, this badman's time is now!

Happy Hallowe’en ;)

As he squeezed the doorknob, I knew. His breath was strained and his hands were rocks. The footsteps haunted the halls as if they were contemplating their inevitable wearing down. I wondered what news had brought him to such agitation.

Then, as he entered his office, he shouted and howled. The room had been searched. If there was one thing that was worse than having being broken into, it was definitely to not know why.

He did not hide piles of gold nor did he own a rarity. He was a man of no particular talent and of scarce knowledge. He was Beige.

I could almost hear the desperate deconstructing of his brain, reviewing every single detail of the last few days.

I saw.
The landlord had come earlier, petted me, went in the office, stole the [insert object here] and walked out grinning. That smile was one of-- satisfactory malice.

...

Knocks at the door, they almost sound like stabbings. Two giants rush into the office. They clutch his arms and tug him out of the house, then throw him in the yellow truck and drive off in a storm of screeching sirens.
