i love the castle in senneville .. the land was bought by someone this fall though .. which means no more trespassing for real .. ah well ..

and the island is directly across from the baie d urfe town hall .. next to ile perrot

it used to be a hospital where parents would send their daughters who became pregnant without being married back in the early 1900's .. they would live there and have their babies and then they would send them to the orphanage in cote de liesse and then the girls would go back home as if nothing ever happened..

later on when it became more accepted for girls to get pregnant out of wedlock the hospital closed and the land was purchased by the government. they were going to build the bridge from the island to the 401 .. but due to complications they moved it over and built the ile le tort bridge instead .. the island was then later given to a notary who had been paying the taxes for over 15yrs .. in the winter they used to board up the hospital with wood and one winter about 25 yrs ago a bunch of kids went over and started up a little bonfire which then spread and set the building on fire..

now there is just one main wall with the fireplace and a few other half walls .. the furnace and piping is still there in the basement along with an old metal frame bed...

you know i really dont appreciate the fact that youre making a joke about something so serious as this. i know it can relieve stress in a situation and all, but i for one have missed my period and then 5 months later was punched in the stomach while high on acid.

we actually saw the people come back to the car that was behind her .. and they walked by her car and read the sign - saw the huge dent - freaked out - checked their bmw all over and then huffed and puffed and took off.

it was pretty funny.

made- waking up and getting taken out to a 40$/person brunch . mmmmmm brunch
