yeah there're ways to get money, now as back in those days. what i was saying is when i hear about some kinda "spirit", "experience" and sharing it doesn't fit with star DJ's (big names) and expensive locations.

what the 'rave' scene is bringing has a lot to do with how we manage our shit together.
to quote noah's signature: "This is your scene".
we (as organisers, dj's or party-goers) make conscient choices by getting involved in this movement to make it fit our will, our hope and our dreams. we build our future.
reproducing market-like dynamics is a choice.
partying at our scale by our means, and building relations throughout those experiences is much more valuable to me than saving cash for two weeks to get to see superStar Djs at any big-ass-100%-legal-location, if you see what i mean.

anyways, nice to hear some old stories and thanks again for sharing ;-)

but all the flyers you scanned are for 15-20-35$ parties... is it me or at these times it was fucking expensive to go party. targeting wealthy youth.
i heard of free parties held in abandonned building around 95, lighting with candles and shuttle with a little car...
i started going to raves in montreal with kamikaze and anticipation crews, hardcore on the floor, cheap entrance.
beside were all the big $ parties.
never really liked those ones.

Trey, i'm wondering if you have any more info on underground cheap or free parties around 94-95 in montreal.
as this is where we can find some 'spirit', the rest is business in my opinion.

non le gerant a ses imperatifs financiers et on est pas assez rentables depuis trop longtemps. c'est comprehensible, le mec a ete patient.

it's fun to have a place to hung out and meet people on a regular base with our music playing. but it involves being on promo, reaching new people and other money matters we don't really care about.

comme vous le savez les jeudis soirs sont pour nous une occasion de se reunir aux rythmes heteroclites de nos congeneres excentriques (putain de debut ca!)

depuis plus de 6 mois, nous avons tente d'offrir un eventail de musique electronique qui ne s'etait encore pas fait entendre dans les bars de notre chere ville.

c'est grace a une (petite) foule de fideles acharnes que nous avons pu durer si longtemps, mais nous croyons que ceci tire a sa fin.
