it was awesome. large bingo hall venue, seperated into 2 rooms with 2 layers of sound curtains. still some sound bleed but not nearly as bad as last year at extinction.. the hardcore room was a tent outside. it was rather small, but it was packed full all night. great vibe, lots of people. good lighting and sound. video games in the corner on a projector hehe.

the only bad thing from what i saw was the line-up took hours for some people. but we just skipped ahead after waiting for about 1 hour. but the people next to us in the line didnt get in till 2:30 or so..

always a good time in quebec city. they know how to party.

could we maybe exclude the raver porn gallery from the gallery thumbnails on the right hand side of the main page? i'm thinking it might not look good to have thumbnails of tits on my work computer.. although i doubt anyone can really tell what the pics are of without looking really closely.

or maybe just have an option to exlcude them in your user prefs maybe.

just a thought.

HULLABALOO!

"DRIFT ON A DREAM"

Saturday Sept 18, 2004
9pm - 6am

The Opera House
Toronto, Canada

Hulla is described like being in a dream by many of those who come through her doors. A little break from the reality of our regular lives. A place where strangers can come together and be united by the music that they love. A beacon of hope in a world that sometimes seems a little off it's hinge. Many things contribute to this: the longstanding tradition of letting the anticipation build for months while our devoted patrons prepare their outfits and things to share. The great HullaNewbie custom of being welcomed to your very first Hulla by those who have been part of it for many years. The absolutely blinding sights and sounds that transport you to another world. And of course the unmatched Hulla atmosphere that continues to attract dedicated partiers from across the world. We've gone on many adventures together, and hope you will come drift away with us on this one.

FEATURING:

DJ DOUGAL
[Essential Platinum, UK]
A pioneering force in the UK hardcore scene going back 10+ years, Dougal has been back on the case in a tremendous way the last couple of years. He first played for us at GET HYPE, unfortunately scheduled during the SARS crisis of '03. We knew we had to bring him back to deliver the full Hulla experience.

ANABOLIC FROLIC
[Hullabaloo, Moonshine, [ anabolic-frolic.com ] [ happyhourradio.com ]
He's made his name synonymous with an entire genre of music and the nucleus of our little slice of heaven, Frolic has remained an enduring icon for those who make the pilgrimage from all over to be part of his sets wherever he plays.

HUJIB
[Hyperstomp, Blatant Beats]
This man has been keeping his nose to the grindstone in the studio doing some awesome work featured on such labels as Blatant Beats. We knew it was time to have him back at Hulla to deliver the goods.

MARCUS VISIONARY
[Bomb Management]
About once a year or so we invite this man back to give us one of the most talked about sets of the night. A Toronto jungle legend and master of the mix, he knows just what to bring to this hardcore crowd.

UNABOMBER
[Nightmare, Terror Inc, [ 2thebeat.com ]
We're not sure why it's taken 7 years for this stalwart of the Toronto scene to make his Hullabaloo debut, but rest assured he promises a very momentous set. HOLY S**T IT'S F**KIN' UNABOMBER AT HULLA!!!!!

D-MINUS
[Hullabaloo, Rave'n'Beats Canada]
The night just wouldn't be complete without the nuttiness of this man and his unique tracks and mixing, who continues to be one of our most requested DJs.

FRISKY
[Hullabaloo, Blatant Beats, RFU]
For more than 7 years Frisky has continued to push the forefront of hardcore with his guaranteed set of new and upfront music. Awesome mixes and smooth programming make his sets a highlight of the evening.

SILVER1
[Hullabaloo, [ HappyHourRadio.com ]
Silver1 has made himself one of Hulla's most popular attractions, he guarantees to please the crowd with his record bag that he describes as a rainbow of hardcore.

MILO
[ ] Totally Sweet Radio]
Another Hullabaloo debut, Hulla continues it's tradition of breaking open the next wave of emerging talent. It doesn't come easily of course, but Milo has proven himself ready to take her stage.

MCs:

JUMPER
JD
KWIK
EVERYBODIES DADDY
