| Description: | On Friday, April 1, 2005 Kapacity Entertainment proudly presents the 2005 DMC Technics Ottawa Elimination with special guest Rjd2. This year we're also featuring The Eastern Canada BBoy Summit. The best DJ's in Ottawa and surrounding areas will battle for turntable supremacy in the prestigious DMC Competition. The top turntablist will earn an opportunity to represent Canada at the World Final in Paris, France. 2-time Ottawa and 2004 Canadian Head-2-Head Champion, DJ Drastik, will be defending his title. Following last year's sold-out De La Soul show at Capital Music Hall, this year's special guest is Producer / DJ Rjd2. This Definitive Jux recording artist will be playing an exclusive 2-hour live DJ set. Rj's breakout solo debut, Dead Ringer, sent listeners on a musical foray into instrumentalism, feasting on styles both old and new, and in the process creating a sound that's emerging as one of the most interesting and exciting new voices in instrumental music. Dead Ringer was an incredible success globally, appearing on many a year end list, including Spin's Top 40 Albums of 2002. Since then Rjd2 has become one of the most talked about artists. He has performed worldwide and has shared the stage with the likes of DJ Shadow, El-P and the Def Jux crew, David Lynch, The Roots and Prefuse 73. Another addition to this year's event is " The Eastern Canada BBoy Summit ", hosted by Esoteric Soul Movement. Featuring 8 of Canada's Top BBoys Crew battling it out in a 3-on-3 competition for a $500 cash prize. Crews invited are: Supernaturalz (Toronto), DDT (Toronto), Drunken Monkz (Toronto), Illmatic (Montreal), Flow Roc (Montreal), Funkfanatix (Toronto), Speed Roc (Outaouais), and Quad Squad (Ottawa). This is a highly anticipated event amongst the BBoy community. It's been years since a BBoy battle like this has been assembled in the capital.
