| Info: | Helsinki proudly presents: [b]Elevation[/b] After the success of the Ferry Corsten show back on April 14, 2005, Helsinki decided to give Ottawa another dose of trance. Helsinki has been the [i]only[/i] location in Ottawa willing to give the trance scene a possibility for a monthly event that would be willing to give your feet a run for its money! So lets show our appreciation by giving this new night a wonderful welcome, and hopefully a place to stay as a staple in the Ottawa scene, on June 16th. DJ's for the evening are as follows. [b]Chakra V[/b] [i]Velvet, Revival[/i] Chakra V bought his first set of decks in January of 2000. Being very discouraged at first, and giving up after only 2 weeks of fooling around with them, Chakra V can only look back upon that time as a learning experience to never give up. Tyler got his first big break in 2001, when he played at an installment of the Deelight series. After being absent from the scene for about 2-3 years, and playing at little parties here and there, finally made a statement in the scene in 2004. In 2004, Tyler entered the Surface Nightclub DJ competition and beat out 15 other competitors to gain the title. He won the 2004 competition in August of last year. Ever since that day, things have looked nothing but up for this young man. Highlight of his career so far would have to be opening up for the one and only Ferry Corsten at Helsinki. The vibe of that night is unparallel, and will stay in his heart and mind for a long, long time. DJ's played alongside: Ferry Corsten, John '00 Fleming, Saint Pete, Dr. Trance. Paladin, DJ Mad, and of course, VH3. [b]VH3[/b] [i](The Deep Blue, ckcu 93.1 fm)[/i] VH3 has been pushing electronic music on the radio starting with "submission", Ottawa's first drum and bass show, starting in 1995 on ckcu fm, "satellite funk" also on ckcu, [ 1groove.com ] in Toronto, and returning to ckcu in 2001 to host trance program "The Deep Blue" (2001 - present). VH3 started playing out at countless raves and club events since 1995. VH3 is known for his trance sets. He also has the ability to mix up his sets by playing electro and new wave house as well. VH3's style is very similar to Ferry Corsten, and hey.. They are both dutch! Ben has been able to put himself together an incredible DJ resume since his start in 1995.. He played alongside DJs like Ferry Corsten, Ronald van Gelderen, Mike Dearborn, Joey Beltram, Charles Feelgood, Donald Glaude, Adam X, Satoshi Tommie, Preach, Yaz, Alain, Imanol, , Max Graham, Brad Copeland, Misstress Barbara, Pedro, Dr. Trance, Saint Pete, Hibernate, San "NeTTwerk" Mehat, Odyssey, DJ Maus, DJ Mad, Teknostep, D-Monic ... and Chakra V! And the list goes on and on! Feel free to ask him about his experiences! [b]Ibizagirl[/b] [i]Pulse[/i] Yelena first got her start at a local Club Maxime where she was offered to promote and play a weekly night in 2000. Thanks to her amazing ear for music and the variety of styles played, which even included hip hop, the night soon became a success. But as all things come to an end, it was time to move on to bigger and better things. After playing numerous parties Yelena started discovering trance music listening to its greatest ambassadors Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk. She dedicated her time to perfecting her skills, finding best and most inspiring music, and captivating audiences whenever she played. More bookings followed including an event called Radiate. Some highlights at the moment include playing at Pulse parties, which marks the frist ever Ottawa University Electroinic Music Club and entering Surface UDJ competiton which will take her far and provide her with a recognition she deserves. Dont let the looks fool you, this lady can defintely rock the dance floors!!
