Copywrite, Theology 3 & Applied Science [ Static Link : iCal ]
City:Canada, Ontario, Ottawa
Time:Fri May 13, 2005 @ 10:00pm
Location:
Babylon, Club
Info:On Friday, May 13, 2005 Kapacity Entertainment proudly presents one of the most dynamic lyricists in hip-hop, Copywrite, alongside special guests KingDom, Theology 3 & Applied Science.

Copywrite got his start in Ohio’s MHz crew (Rjd2, Copywrite, Jakki the Motormouth, Tage Prototype, and Camu Tao) in the mid 90s. After releasing several 12” singles with the MHz crew on the infamous Fondle’em Records, Copywrite released two singles as a solo artist. The Rawkus distributed 12” “Holier Than Thou/Tower of Babble”, and the now classic “June” 12”, with Rjd2 on Def Jux Records, put him in the forefront of independent Hip-Hop music. Copywrite secured his cult status in 2002 with his stunning debut full-length album, the High Exhaulted.

Respected by many for his vicious punchlines, Copywrite returned to his battling roots in 2003 and annihilated the competition at Roc the Mic Tour MC battle at a Jay-Z/50 Cent show in front of 15,000 people. Since then, he has earned the admiration of many of the industry’s heavy hitters, such as Jay-Z, Damon Dash, and Just Blaze. While Copywrite weighs his options in preparation to release his official sophomore solo project, he has released a mixtape of brand new tracks and freestyles featuring a star-studded list of guests. Cruise Control Vol. 1, released on Copywrite’s label, O.D.O.T. Records, features the O.D.O.T. crew (Jakki, Tage Proto, KingDom, Catalyst, and Meta4ce) and production from the likes of J-Dilla, Jake One, J-Zone, and more.

Accompanying Copywrite will be one of his O.D.O.T. crew members, KingDom. The 20 years old Cleveland MC rips numerous verses throughout Cruise Control Vol. 1 and is looking to do the same when he arrives in Ottawa.

This long awaited event is Copywrite’s first appearance in the Nation’s capital.

Toronto’s Theology 3 has been making plenty of noise in the Canadian underground for some time. From his self-produced 12” single in 2000, to his numerous mix-tape and compilation appearances, to his 2004 “Screwface Capital” EP, Theology 3 never fails to impress. Theo recently completed three songs with DJ Serious, which can be heard on Serious’ brand new album, Cold Tea.

Also on the line-up for this special night is Ottawa’s own Applied Science. This 2004 Ottawa Xpress winner for best Hip-Hop group is at the forefront of the Ottawa Hip-Hop scene and their fan base continues to grow. Get ready for Escrol and DJ Illo to give their city another unforgettable performance.
