| Info: | MYSTIC MASQUARADE WITH… JoJo Flores Halloween time is always fun and welcomes the open/creative clandestine mind. La Churra productions bring you an evening where you can explore the fantasy of the performance world. With the mystical flare of costumes, and make up, the air is surreal and mysterious. We always want to pretend to be someone else, to don a facade that will pave the night into a dreamy fairy tale. Start planning your costume for this Masquerade burlesque evening, a night where women are bewitching, and men intriguing warlocks. By evoking higher spirits, we want your evening to become enchanted and spellbound by our outrageous dreamy/magical décor, mesmerizing music by jojoflores (Gotsoul Rec., Therapy) from Montreal, and tantalizing theatrics and performances by Rafael Circo de la Calle from Montreal, and the outstanding local Qwod Sqwod dancers. Sweet, soulful melodies and a profound, jazzy vibe are what you can expect from internationally acclaimed DJ jojoflores. After 20 years of devotion to the underground music industry, he was recently voted New York City’s Best International DJ (2002+2003). The boundlessness of his skills has not gone unnoticed in his hometown as jojoflores won Montreal’s 1998 Best Club DJ Sounds of Blackness Award and has been rated one of Montreal’s Top 3 DJ’s for three years in a row. He is one of the most travel savvy ambassadors of Montreal’s soulful dance music and the city’s hottest deep house garage export. He has toured North America with Osunlade of Yoruba Records and has established honorary residencies in the cities of New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Singapore, Manila, Athens and Toronto. Spinning around the globe touching deep the ones who know how to go with his flow. Jojoflores sound is deeply blissful, reminding us that life should be true, full of love and joyful, embarking us on a journey that oozes all that is wonderful. The Mystic Masquerade night will take place Saturday October 30th, at the one and only Helsinki disco lounge located at 15 George St. Mask is mandatory, should you arrive mask less, we will sell them at a very reasonable price, so you can enter the obscure enigmatic world of fantasy & imagination.
