We want to expose to our community, what outstanding talent we have locally, all kinds of tastes and spectrum of colours. We want to diversify, be distinct and encourage people to grow and experience beyond everyday life scenes. True talent at its best! Hair/Makeup by mondomedeusah Fossilfuel Recordings Rise Ashen of Fossilfuel recordings will be providing music for this wonderful fashion/art event. Rise Ashen is a familiar name in the worldwide nujazz music movement. As a producer, dj, engineer, musician, composer, he is one of the top remix producers in Canada. His music has been released worldwide by some of the top recording labels such as Jazzanova-Compost, Six Degrees, NRK, Stereo Deluxe, Afroart, Bombay, Recreation, Fabric and 20:20 just to name a few. His production has been charted by industry leaders such as Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Frankie Valentine, Bonobo and Joeski and Onions. His music has appeared on the compilations of Rainer Truby, Doc Martin and Roger Sanchez. He has also produced and collaborated on numerous productions with some of Canada’s best: Trevor Walker Miguel Graca & Blissom. Rise Ashen knows how to keep the crowd on the dance floor when he plays. This will be an exciting fashion/art event with one of North America’s top dj/producer blessing the crowd with his musical sounds. We need more love in this world, so start spreading the word “LOVE MOVEMENT†is happening at the sexiest spot in the city, with lots of room to dance and free your soul. Blissom has been drumming since he was eight years old. Rythm has always been central to his approach and his studies in recording engineering helped him hone his skills as a percussionist as well as a deejay. His flair as an accompanist is matched by his skill as a lead percussionist and he can only be described as a monster behind the decks. His brazillian flavored tribal and broken beat sets have garnered him a reputation for floor-shaking madness and his production has landed on many renowned labels, such as Compost [ www.Compost-Records.com ] and NRK. You can catch him somewhere between Paris and Toronto, where he often plays the Promise and Movement parties among others. The Love Movement event will take place at HELSINKI LOUNGE and DISCO located at 15 George Street on Saturday September 11th. Episode I - hosted by Catalina Galvis & Donald K.
