To be honest i have never trusted them and with my own experience i trust them about as far as i can throw them. Two years ago i was almost clubbed by police during one of the protests downtown(i asked them if i could get into a building where i had pickup...thier response was intened volice...saved by TV crew showing up...we all know how much police hate to be caught on tape). Another example is a fellow bike courier got hog tied & her tires slash this past summer by riot police..she was sitting by on stand by. Really funny note is....... i would take a stab @ this one that many be 25% of their force can speak English. How can you protect & help out people when you can not talk with them? I am firm beliver in the fact the power couroptes....

The basic problem is how to curb our basic nature?

Just a thought i want to express

i've met shit head cops, i've met chill cops
i've met foxy sexy lady cops, i've met bitchy cops
but one thing still remains the same, they're cops
and i don't trust em...

i never make a scene near them, i never act up in front of them, and i always cooperate... theres too much they can do to you without consequence, there is just too much to worry about with them

Exactly.
but technically you also have the right to affect the lives of others in the same way. You dont need to be a cop in order to arrest someone...

ever hear of citozen's arrest?

That's some weird shit ...
If u see anyone acting violent, or catch him stealin at any store or whatever ...
U can play the cop ...

Dunno exactly the details of it all thought ,...
Like u couldn't just beat the hell of a thief and end up with no troubles i guess ...

I guess what's gonna happen soon with the private police for the rich n shit ..
People will take care of their laws themselves ..
Or maybe i've seen too many movies ...

It's called being a good samaritan...

apparently you can get in shit if you neglect to help someone in distress... unless of course you can justify that you your life would have been in danger had you done anything to stop the situation... ie: if you see someone getting beaten on the street, you're obligated to step in and help the victim unless the attacker has a weapon (gun, knife, etc) in which case he may kill you for getting involved in the situation. Fear has to be justified... telling the cops "it was none of my business so I didnt want to get involved" is an invalid excuse.

i wish they would ditch the term "samaritan"..
it's tied too tightly with the bible.

and they're just frikking municipal forces
...I seen cops kicking a guy on the ground last summer - 3 of them surrounding this stupid junkie thief - the muffled thud of their boots against his helpless body still sends me off into the void

True ..its still less hardcore than anywhere else ..

What's weird is that usually when someone gets beaten up , people around do as if nothing was happening ..

And the cops hey ...they always come around too late ..
