I don't know y but I was able to understand the movie two ways.

1) that the guy was crazy and imaging it all in his head only by reading or dreaming about things that happened in the past until he woke up in that institute, being the real world and all. And that, when he was i the professor’s office watching that old family home made movie he died of brain cancer, ending in paradise where every thing was fine.

OR

2) That he had some powers to change things done in the past, witch I find kinda lame.

Am I the only one who saw the movie that way or is my imagination going out of hand?

The question is; is it even a good movie? I'm hesitant to pay $10 to see a movie staring Ashton Kutcher.

i saw it, it was better than i thought, but the "he can change the past with his mind" thing was kinda dumb.

Fuck the movie, the theory in general kicks ass.

Every since I droped a tab of extacy and wrote this nonsense in my friends black-book did everything (ironicly) make sense. I suddenly got this ephiphany of how this world works... And trust me, it's fucking retarded.

Just like in the Matrix, there is one rule: Cozality- Cause and effect, action reaction.
If anyone remembers the part where neo meets the architecht, the architech explains how the robots have manipultaed the choas theory, through mathimatical equations to ultimatly get neo to meet the architecht in that white room.(I know, the matrix isn't the best reference) But through that movie, it gives a very good understanding or the Choas Theory, Determinism and a basic idea of ways of manipulating our reality.

I don't know who here is actually into philosphy, physics or math, but the chaos theory is (i find- even thoguh I've only realized the actual term just now) one of the most pertinent of questions that should be answerd.

Well, i figure no one here really cares... so why bother.

Anyways, Thanks for those links, preety cool stuff. If anyone has anymore imput on the subject, post, post!! post!!! I know Dan can find something cool on this.

i am very interested in all three of those subjects
the chaos theory is actually very interesting, and i would like to know more

my original inquiry was just to know why so many people SUDDENLY knew about it... i mean its pretty well known, but not really

and that matrix reference is actually quite good

the movie was alright if you ignored the holes in the plot and forgot that you're watching kelso minus arms.

The reason everyone knows about it is because we all experience it in a very general way, a way that no one can actually put a name to. But now since everyone just saw that movie, we can all associate experiences that can reflect upon that theory.

If you want to know more. Read the info. on the websites on Bleeding.Throughs post. There's some preety cool shit, especially the art renderings made with the formula used in the chaos theory.
They look like Galactic Infinity symbols. How symbolic...

Anything about fractals YaY!!!

Nah, the thing with the chaos theory is that, well let's say, in a supersonic laminar air stream, you can predict where the particles of air will be, because they're all moving in a straight line...

But if you increase the pressure on this airstream, then turbulence occurs suddenly, and you can't predict the position of the particles anymore...
It's chaos...
And I think scientists are trying to find order in that chaos, or what precisely cause it ...

Something like that, but I don't know more.. :P
