 Coolness: 200515 | first off, i got a huge kick out of being at rainbow and loudly exclaiming to my friends in front of hoards of metelheads that "the last time i was here i was at a HAPPY HARDCORE RAVE!!!"
okay so the first band was called your friends eneies or your enemies friends or some gay shit like that. at any point during their set they were rather very good or very very bad. there was a guy singer who was good and a lady singer who sounded like a cat being thrown into scalding hot water. the next band was THE LOCUSTS. jesus. h. christ. i haven't been blown away by a band like this since i saw slipknot perform in 1999, and slipknot are pansy asses. the locusts were wearing these cool black and white alien/insect type outfits with masks and all, but it wasn't gay. i know it wounds gay but it was fucking sick. each song was less than 30 seconds and sounded like they had just thrown and industrial lawnmower and it was eating your hair and slicing through your scalp. fucking awesome. y'all sound check out that shit. so the locusts totally stole the show. it was insane. i barely even watching dillinger escape plan. they were alright, they sounded good and were relatively entertaining. lots of thrashing and WWWWHYYYY!!!!! and such. they're coming out with a new album in a couple month, apparently. i don't really care. there were all sorts of peta flyers near the merch booths, i stole a whole bunch and there was a picture of a skinned wolf on one of them. awesome. all in all, definitely worth my $20 bucks. ps- i'm so glad i posted this review to a grindcore show on a montreal rave forum. everyone can make a difference pps- jeff i got you the coolest present. ppps- julia guiltieri says hi, you know who you are. |

definitely NOT worth my 20 bucks. still cool, but a bunch of lame dope smokin vegans standing around trying to not their head to the correct 7/4 3994 BPM beat just made for lame ambiance. rock concerts are booorrrrring. fucking good bands mind you, locusts and DEP, but next time i'll just download their shit and play it really loud in my living room. naaamean? |
