This was the first New Years Eve party where I was inside to do the count down, so that made me happy. I have to give it to the security for they had their hands full this night, and they where not assholes about it eitherJ. Saw allot of us rave wavers there, which is always nice. Just like any New Years Eve party everyone was trashed or fuckr’d, which always makes for entertaining people watchingJ The music was good, but I did not call me to the dance floor (I am not saying the music was shit, just did not hit me the right way). I have to say flooding really sucked, but things like this happen. All the peeps that I got to come to this event all had a wicked ass time.so props. This night was full of wacky things happening, wicked peeps and just a good time once things settled down after the one floor was closed down. To the people putting this on you did a good job dealing with things ….PROP!!!!

I have agree that there where some very hot woman there that night:)Meet some really nice peeps:) the VIP area was a saving grace for me...thanks

Was very happy that my feet where dry though the whole night:)

well i almost made it inside for midnight

had lots of fun dancing downstairs until the flood
had a great conversation with a stranger in the looooong line up for the bathroom
tried to get into the '80s music that was playing, normally i love all things cheesy but it just wasn't happening for me. could just be because i felt like i had been drugged and was dying
was about to leave when mayday came on, discovered music was the cure for death, hung on a bit longer, was sorry that i had to leave when i did....i hate not feeling well when i'm having fun.
so i thought it was a great party, even with the closing of the downstairs room.

happy new years :)

i enjoyed myself, i got too drunk and too high at one point and when the top floor got too crowded cause of the flood, i jumped at the chance to go to lindsays and crack out with my friend.

good times, good times, thanks K6, L4 and KOPS.

whew. what a fucking insane new year's. i just woke up from my first decent rest in four or five days, so still kinda incoherent.

first of all, thanks to everyone that came out to support. to all the people that didn't get in, we're very sorry, we would've liked to let you in but due to the closing of the downstairs floor, we simply didn't have room. we did attempt to honour all who had been in already or who had tickets. if you have a ticket and could not get into the door, please send an email to info@2k4.ca.

as far as the closing of the room, and the creation of lake 2k4 in the basement, that obviously was NOT planned -in fact, foreseeing the risk of plumbing problems in this old building, we shelled out and spent time making sure the plumbing was functional. I dont wanna point fingers or lay the blame anywhere, but the on-site plumber told us that "the city water line bust" under the building, so it wasn't his fault. water was pouring up from the floor through a hole in which this pipe was located. he also confirmed that all the drains in the basement had been blocked for "years", meaning that there was no way to drain the water out. our one option was renting a sump pump and pumping the water out (not easy to find one of those at 3 AM on new year's day)... but we concluded that the water was constantly rising, and that even having pumped the water out, and reset up the sound system and lights, the issue would simply repeat itself. while it was fun for awhile, with people dancing in 6 inches of water and shit, it simply couldn't go on. there was no way we could afford to pay for lighting and sound equipment (to rent, yes, but not to buy haha) if it got damaged, and obviously it was a blatant safety hazard and we didn't need any more of those...

i'd also like to thank everyone for their support, people seemed to have a really good time even considering that circumstance. thanks to philgood for your understanding -sorry u didn't get to hear him everyone. also removed from the bill were nter, kilobyte, freebass and seko. sarcastic and milton clark played upstairs from 6:45 until 9:15, when the police finally came and closed down our party...

in short, this was a COMPLETELY fucked up event. at once a disaster and an epiphany, truly memorable in so many ways, and a fucking INSANE way to kick off a year. never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the nuttiness of this night (might I mention that, the night before, I dreamt that Milton Clark crashed a bus into 2k4 and killed 20 people -phew, glad that didn't happen at least)....

one love.

yeah tell me about it.......what's funny is that earlier that day, at like 11something in the am when I went to help unload the trucks with the sound systems' setups, Lalla was talking about some weird ass dream about the party being mad and out of control.......you're dream came true dude hahahaha!

I for one did not have much of a good time (it was nice to chill with some people though)......the music upstairs was loungy for too long and for some reason I don't think that most people found it funny to listen to 90s music really........maybe I'm wrong but it seemed that it was catching on when they were playing at least house and stuff.....

initially i got lost an wound up upstairs - it smelled like urine and sweat so i travelled downstairs where it was super crazy fun. I didnt notice the flood until about 30 mins into it - my shoes were too high and heavy to notice.
