Non-reward-based social regimes (communism, extreme left socialism, etc) are known to fail because they stagnate and end up turning to despotism (be it hidden or open) regardless of how they start.
Initiative and willingness to work has to be compensated or people won't do it.

| USSR no longer exists because communism failed.
Russia now is more capitalist than the US in many ways... theyre just ironing out the details now.. the hard way... through controlled anarchy.
People suffer. And why? Because in the beginning of last century, a small group of well-off people with too much time thought communism might have been a good idea. |

| they shoulda gotten a better czar. or Duma (which is the russian equivalent of parliament) shoulda gotten more functional power, kinda like the UK (or Canada) now, the Queen is really a symbolic figure, I bet most people dont even realize we're a Monarchy. Communism was not a solution, it was initiated by (and was propagated and continuously enforced by) terrorists. The first thing they did is get rid of their intellectual compadres who thought up the whole thing with the purest motives. Those werent needed anymore. |

All I got to say is:
STEP 1 - DENIAL
communism worked better then ever in former yugoslavia.. we were the ones who said fuck off to stalin and we had another vision of communism.. it was the only way to prevent 3 different nations jumping at each other's throats.. the second (yes the second even) that we accepted democraty and a mild form of capitalism (something you have here) the country fell apart followed by the worst massacre in europe since world war 2.
And US is doing the same thing stalin did.. they just have different tools of propaganda and they make people believe that they are free because they have money to do it |
