 Coolness: 51375 | it was phun! we got there just as it was getting dark on satuday. instantly found paul-insomniak and his crew...the alt-montreal stage was great cos it had a canopy and the stage was out of the back of the trailer truck. chilled with maskinn, mack one, 1speed.....great folks, imho, i like their hard-tek-dancehall agenda, as it is kind of unique. i got to play for a while and i couldnt see shit in terms of the crowd but there was much hollering and ppl were dancing so that's always good. at some point i see Lalla and Nter right in front of me while im playing and i just shouted at them "you fuckers! you fuckers!". terms of endearment of course....
renegade virus indeed had the best sound system. i heard some sick speedcore from someone - it may have been terroristkriss...we gotta meet dude. my buddy C64 from toronto played a great set of raggajungle breakcore. i also saw a 4 person improv noise jam - each person either had a laptop or gear ...guitar pedals and such. when youre in the middle of the woods several beers and slpiffs in, and some dudes are doing random improv electronic stuff like that, well, that's pretty cool i reckon. i later found the lev4 dudes and their gfs (hi chels!) at their stage...by this point things were getting surreal /...eventually there was some decent jungle being played at some stage and i remember dancing to it as the sun came up...insomniak was there living up to his nickname....then we went and slept in the car and got the fuck outta dodge as soon as we woke up. thanks for the invite severin. i was glad to go, and as much fun as it would have been to actaully camp with tents and shit, it was convenient to stay a short enough amount of time to not necessitate having to shit in the woods. most of the stages were playing shitty trance. alt, renegade, the one w/ level4, and the late night jungle made up for it all. but why is there so much shit trance, like, everywhere? IT WAS WICKED THOUGH! end of review! |
