sup guys, i'm decking the shit out of my living room and i'm pretty much done except for the ceiling, i'm only missing 4 more black lights for the ceiling and i'm looking for stuff i can hang or wrap around the ceiling that really lights up but i can't think of anything except for blank white paper but that doesn't really glow much... anyway let me know. i'm gonna post the pictures of my room when i'm done

so far i have 8 black light banisters and 5 deco paintings along the wall, but the ceiling is lacking. i'm no interior decorator but i want this shit to be epic when it's 100% complete

i'm hoping there will be shit close by like the dollarama, i'm not too creative with this kinda stuff so any ideas are appreciated ^^
I'm feeling chillin right now..

they have fluorescent cardboard at dollarama... also look at the skipping ropes section, some of them are uv-reactive... and cure-pipes, i forgot how they*re called in english...

oh yes and the slinky can be a fun addition, they usually have the rainbow fluorescent ones...

also bring me some fluorescent rope/yarn and a circle thing and i can make you / teach you how to make a dreamcatcher.

Seriously though, if you want something permanent without permanently pissing your landlord off by painting UV reactive paint on your ceiling, you could always apply paint to textile or some thick paper and mount it onto thick cardboard (pressed, not corrugated) or masonite.

Now I'm not sure if you're looking to cover the entire ceiling, if so, it's gonna take a lot of thinking and a lot of hard work with your hands in the air. Should you chose to do so, you're better off splitting it into many slabs and mount them one by one (measure twice, cut once).

Heck you could even make a mosaic, but that would take a lot of time, but if you have good friends willing to work on such a project, it could be very epic indeed.

Here is an example of an old mosaic I made in school a few years back using only straight lines and basic shapes in illustrator 9please ignore the gradients lol), it's probably way too complex to be viable, but something simpler, more colorful and just as geometric could very well match that psychedelic living room.

Anyway, good luck and have fun!

Arg nvm, I seriously thought you wanted that ceiling covered, sorta skipped the part about stuff hanging...

I had to dig that image deep, so old :P

Use this program, then use UV paints on what you print out.

Also this: (I'm building this/similar using The Rasterbator)

And also this: (I own this)

@Strik_IX: Check out my print out program with UV paint idea for that mosaic.

Damn, does that rasterbator thing actually resize images to larger sizes without losing quality?

Or is it just to print out large images into tiles? (Photoshop can do that)

That's pretty much the project that made me fall in love with vector illustration and design.

I spent so much time on this thing even though all it was for was getting used to basic tools in illustrator, I felt compelled to get the maximum out of what limited knowledge I had from this software.

Rasterbator turns it into dots, so it's not exactly like a perfect conversion, but it does look damn good!

I still dont get it, pixel images are already rasterized (bitmap dots), I read the whole thing and still dont understand the principle. Does it make larger dots? Is it simple interpolation?

The FAQ is useless in terms of explaining the process behind the results.
