My main focus is Industrial (this is going to sound pretentious as hell, but, REAL Industrial), Noise, Ambient, "I.D.M", Powerviolence, Crust, Grind, old school Hip Hop, and Black Metal. Also, a considerable amount of electronic music. Quite a few things in between. |

You remind me of myself circa 1998 when all I would listen to were classics of industrial and ultra obscure releases from places like Slovakia and the like. I was waaay into this stuff for years. ( I mean this in a good way, don't worry :) Have you gone through your electro-acoustic phase? :D I used to listen to a show on CKCU (or CHUO?) in Ottawa called Sounds Unlikely, which featured electro-acoustic compositions. Some unbearable to listen to but I felt so goddamn L33T listening to it ;P I also discovered a shitload of music through usenet back when rec.music.industrial was active. The flame wars there make ravewave pretty tame. I am mainly listening to the Black Keys, Shitmat, and G-Side, some of the Jay Electronica mixtape (particularly "Voodoo Man"), Robert Johnson, and I really dig this Roberta Flack number I have on there, "Gone Away". I was just commenting on how I found we had similar interests and inquired if he had an EA phase like I did. Maybe so, maybe not. I don't really listen to any of that anymore. I still own records, I still respect it, I just don't listen to it anymore. I never claimed my tastes get "better" over time, they simply change.
