[ articles.latimes.com ] The hallucinogen contained in the drug caused the girl to lose oxygen to her brain, leading to her death, Dr. Marc Futernick, head emergency room physician at California Hospital Medical Center, told the Los Angeles Times. Doctors said "her sodium, electrolytes were so low that when she started replacing them so quickly [with cold water], ecstasy messes up your body's ability to process that, so it threw her body out of whack" More than 100 people were hospitalized during the June 25-26 Electric Daisy Carnival event, many for drug intoxication symptoms. Insomniac organized the Electric Daisy Carnival in June. The two-day stadium event was marred by the girl's death from a suspected drug overdose and 118 arrests, mostly for drug possession. The event, held Friday and Saturday, drew about 185,000 people to carnival rides, five stages and performances by Moby, Will.i.am, Steve Aoki and Deadmau5. About 120 required transport to local hospitals, mostly for drug intoxication. Sounds like brown E was going around that rave. 2) LA cancels tiesto "concert rave" - Law Suit Ensues [ latimesblogs.latimes.com ] The organizer of a June rave that ended with a death is suing the city of Los Angeles for canceling an upcoming show. Insomniac Inc. had scheduled an October concert at the Los Angeles Convention Center, featuring Tiesto, a popular electronic dance music DJ. A company official said the contract was terminated earlier this month. 4) Will raves in America is a hot button issue in America (again)? Doesn't even have to be cut with PMA or 4-MTA or anything for it to have that effect, it's a natural side effect of the adrenaline rush to get dehydrated. Should have read the manual. |

Lots of people who get sent to detox actually do this to get drunk. Drink a ton of water fast and it's just like getting smashed. |

Kinda funny, there's also a medieval french water torture as well: they force you to guzzle tons of water until your stomach is on the threshold of blowing up. In Polish prison, they drink xxxxxxxxxtra strong tea to get somekind of a buzz too. |
