 Coolness: 66775 | just curious to know is it really that big of a difference ? a guy told me it helps alot when playing mp3's, but i'm not very good with wires so i thought i'd shoot the q out.

 Coolness: 201300 | XLR has a ground, which helps prevent ground loops. The wires tend to be much more durable as well (I've trashed tons of rca wires).
If your audio hardware supports them I'd use it (some audio hardware use TRS (1/4 inch) plugs that are grounded, which has the same function but a less durable plug... you can get TRS --> XLR adapters). If your outputs are RCA or unbalanced phone jack (1/4 inch or 1/8 inch) using an adapter would be a waste of time, you'd have to buy new hardware. In other words, if your sound card/stereo has these plugs, use them, but using an adapter won't help. Also I'd order wires from a place like [ monoprice.com ] local stores rip you off. |

| Coolness: 66775 | ah thanks! yeah all the stuff i just got is xlr campatible and thanks for the site i'm gonna check it out now. i'm just waiting on buying the xlr's cause my mixer isn't in yet and i'd rather have everything before going for it. so i'm def going xlr thanks guys! |

| Coolness: 66775 | well i don't know much about wires like i said so i thought maybe sound quality for what the guy was saying, i mean my set up now is fuckin rockin' but i want top of the line wires; a chain is only as strong as its weakest link after all.. n LOL at the pic, yeah i'd roll the tank, i'm still waiting on a piece of equip before switching to xlr's though, for soe reason in my head i just picture this beast ass cable lol |
