it hurts coz they did the most insane-genius-innovative allbum of all time ( what my ear were exposed to at least ...)
and forget to see them, Graeme Revell is composing for lame blockbusters for years now so hes far far far away from psychiatric hospital heroin lost in a unknown dimension music ;)
Test Dept, 1995 i NEVER saw people dancing in a trance like that show.
Ever!
i wasnt expecting that much, thinking their good years were behind but fuck no!
btw, speaking of really innovative music, the residents are in town this week ( tonight maybe)...

I can imagine. I'm not that into their dance oriented New Wave stuff (I do love New Wave though).
I really love Information Overload, Leichenschrei and Auto DaFe. Machine Age Voodoo just sounds as if they were trying to be more conventional and radio friendly. However, I do really enjoy Zamia Lehmanni: Songs of Byzantine Flowers, which came out after Machine Age Voodoo. Anyways... Haha

Test Dept I would've done anything to see. :(

It's going to be like 30 bucks.

This is what you're in for. [ www.youtube.com ]

BTW. Einsturzende Neubauten WILL be going on a world tour THIS YEAR to celebrate their 30 year anniversary as a band. :)
I'm feeling two bookshelves right now..

i saw Coil at metropolis for mutek and i wished i saw them elsewhere than a public relations "how you doin, oh my god hahahaha ect " festival of people who had pass and didnt gave a shit about the show.
BUT it was still good.

Zamia Lehmanni is a great record i agree, so check out for Graeme Revell - The Insect Musicians and The Music Of Adolf Wölfli ( its a comp but theres some Nurse With Wound too).
and even if Leichenschrei is the ultimate industrial album (yes it is ) my fav tracks are Emanatiön Machine R. Gie 1916 and Slogun ( goosebumps )

i saw Neubauten too but it was disapointing...
the dancers of lalalalsteplala or something came on stage and i just left when i should have put my precious money on test dept or residents ( fetival de musique actuelle de montreal in 91 )
the singer was complaining about the sound the whole time and throws is microphone 25 times on the floor coz he was mad...
what can you expect from a band that need 12347812341279 mic for a setup of garbage scrap !?!?
thats it... feedback ;)

Ugh.. I can imagine how frustrating that must have been. I hate when people talk nonstop during shows. So annoying/disrespectful.

I will check out Graeme Revell. :)
Woah there, THE ultimate Industrial album? It is a really amazing album, don't get me wrong, but I disagree with you there. Heh. :P I think that 20 Jazz Funk Greats or The Second Annual Report are much more "ultimate". Haha :P

Also, I can understand why Blixa got pissed. I mean, I like my noisy and experimental music to sound really crisp, loud and high quality. If not, it just sounds like shit. Maybe I am just a little crazy and a perfectionist though. I played a show not long ago with other people and I could barely here my contribution to the show. I was not pleased. I could here people talking over what I was doing. -_-

...Another band I'd LOVE to see live again is THE LEGENDARY PINK DOTS!!!!! :D

you hooked me up on that one hein?!? ;)
last show was great.
but the 1991 show is still today the most intense experience ever for me.
i mean jesus lizard, melvins, andrew w.k. are like some shows ill never forget but....
Kaspel at that time was still having fun playing the pseudo mystic weirdo character ( people started to take the shit too seriously so he stopped ).
and the whole set was just.... imagine your favorite band playing your favorite album... their whole discography before 1990 was entirely genius for me and they also have that ability to dig the song that was just release on a k7 compilation that you never expect to hear live.
so that night they played "no bell no prize" wich was on a really really hard to find compilation at that time.( easy to find now )
.
.
.
lets pretend were back on topic id say the tear garden then ;)

Hey... that would be a nice lineup wouldn't it... unfortunately all there is to listen to in this city is this kind of stuff:

Oh and I am so going to see the first guy on that list play Toronto. Did he get a Montreal date? No. Why not? BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW SHITMAT. How is this possible? BECAUSE MONTREAL DOES NOT KNOW SHIT ABOUT ELECTRONIC MUSIC UNLESS IT WINDS UP SUPER UBER-POPULAR.
I'm feeling dorksided! right now..
