 Coolness: 93485 | The Rangers get Chris Higgens. Scott Gomez is a very expensive cap hit, and is overpaid. But I guess Montreal has a lot of cap space. And Gomez is a lot better than Higgins... Montreal also gave up there #1 pick from 2007, Ryan McDonagh.
IMO, Gainey gave up way too much for an overpaid player. Yes he's better than higgins, but he's not in the same league as any other player who makes over 7 million a year, except maybe Drury and Briere (who are also overpaid) |

Our biggest loss is McDonaugh, not Higgins. I'm surprised Bob traded him away, whereas I felt Higgins was out. A change of scene should help Higgins, hopefully he can pan out and use all that potential for hes had "potential" for 3 years now and has yet to prove he can be everything he's being hailed to be. Gomez answers a big need, something that has been lacking for about a decade, Gomez also brings leadership, seeing as Koivu is most likely out due to this signing we will be needing some. |
