No offense but I dont think anyone is gonna want to wait 2 weeks while a multi million dollar company reviews their application (if they need cash now like you stated). It's also mandatory to get your police record verified down at the station if you want a job there. Who has time to do that? And it's also in Dorval, that is the worst commute in montreal if you live in the city :S

And on top of it Rogers rejects 75% of their applications. (you're lucky you work there)

So to anyone applying there, Good luck! :)

Anyone notice how Jeepee did not mention the awesome atmosphere and how cool, open-minded and fun people are over there ? Or how easy it is to work with the ever-growing bitchy overbearing spoiled public ?

Not to dissuade or anything but it takes a will of steel for this job. If you have that, go go GO !
I'm feeling skate 2 right now..

I heard you have to get a document signed by an officer down at the station - takes 2 minutes but it's still a hassle. Also, I don't think your SIN number has anything to do with a criminal background.
I'm just sayin ;)

Well, since we're on the subject... I'm at Fido (part of Rogers), and it's downtown (Place Bonaventure) and we're also hiring. I've never heard of a police record verification over here. I've been there for over 4 years and the conditions are actually pretty good.

V2-1 is however right, the worst part when you start out as a CSR is dealing with really awful people over the phone (usually, when people call their phone company, it's NOT because everything is alright and they just want to say "I love you"). Anyways, the pay is good and the people are cool.

Sorry for "hijacking" your thread, but I was basically responding to Host One who was talking about the Police record thing and how far Rogers is, which doesn't apply at Fido, even though you have the same salary and benefits.

Note: Right now, only part-time people are hired. This should change around fall. PM me if you want more info and/or if you want to be refered.
I'm feeling yay right now..

what do they checkup? and btw, they need your consent to do things like that, they can't just check up on your criminal background without your permission, that's illegal.
Secondly, they don't use your SIN to see if you have a criminal background dude...they need your full name and that's that, it's 20$ and they can find out if you've been convicted of anything. But most of the time, they don't want to spend the 20$ so they make you bring the document to be signed by an officer. I've heard this being done many times.

I've never been convicted - but I know that's how it works. Rogers just rejected me off the bat - said that there are ppl who are more qualified for the job, which is bullshit because I've been doing phone work for over 5 years, those online applications are bs.

Omni is right! I got hired at Fido in January and they did do a criminal background check, with my consent, free of charge. If you can deal with the assholes on the phone, Fido is awsome!
