it's one thing that Noisia didn't make it,
another thing on sweeping it under the carpet at the event like it was no big deal

Bah, as much as I think Screwhead went way overboard on his DOA thread, regardless, he managed to get both Martijn and Circle Management to explain themselves.

In the future tho, please refrain for speaking on behalf of ALL montreal

K Thx

take the D&B out of Drum and Bass, and you have the much preferable Rum and Ass!

I'll echo that, in a sense. Thanks for taking one for the team, Screwhead!

I actually think Noisia kinda owes the Picnik crew something, now, still (regardless of the canceled flight being plain rotten luck).

Heh, even if I was some big international act, I'd still feel bad about fans from a city getting dicked twice from seeing ME, I'd try and make it up to them :p

It's called ego, and respect for the überfans like Screwhead who react so vividly :p

Now here's a little addenum to all of this from the posts by Marijn and the guy who was in charge of the booking..

From what I was told by someone, there WAS the possibility of an after-party, and they WANTED to have an after-party with Noisia since they were going to be in town anyways.

Now, Martijn said himself:

after this i waited for another 6 or 7 hours at atlanta airport to catch the next flight to montreal to maybe be able to play at an afterparty or so..

And then the guy in charge of the booking chimed in:

at no point did i myself or martijn noisia ever say to the promoter of the piknic or the promoter of the afterparty that he needed money to play the club/bar thing after party. in fact- i even suggested to the piknic promoter that if any money came in off the door from the bar gig, he should get the first few hundred or so and apply that toward the flight share he had already paid. i also explained to the picnic promoter that even if noisia plays the bar, the deposit that was paid will still serve as a valid credit for the next time he books noisia.

So, either one of two things happened here: I was either lied to (for some reason) by someone that I *really* don't think would have lied to me about what had been attempted to do to get us to have Noisia play despite it not happening at Piknic

OR

Piknic are the ones that said that we wouldn't have an after-party and didn't want them around, despite that being totally bullshit.

Personally I'm gonna lean more towards Piknic being the ones that succesfully managed to squash the small chance we had at seeing Noisia last night.
I'm feeling your norks right now..

Somehow I doubt that [Screwhead] is a coke dealer. He seems more like one of those people who needs to hang out with promoters/DJs in order to feel properly included at parties since he doesn't have very good social skills. Do you sometimes carry speakers at the end of the night?

Anyways, you probably have me pegged as this irrational jerk that starts fights with everyone so I'll make it short. I didn't want what happened on sunday, it was really out of line and I think I mentionned in the thread I wrote, that I'm ashamed and rightfully so. After the scene I created I can understand why you think I'm an asshole. I know the ppl at Piknic never want me around again, and will remember my face, like you said. But I want you to know, and for them to know that I feel remorse for what I did and I want to apologise. I've been backpedalling and trying to revise how things went down, because I do have a concsious, and I know what happened that day could have been prevented on my part. I wasn't thinking clearly and I got what I deserved, big time. I admit it, and it takes a lot for me to admit that.

I'm sorry to Michel Quintal and Piknic for my behaviour and I'm going to make sure it won't re-occur ever again, with anyone. I'm sorry I couldn't type this in french as my grammar is not up to par. But my sincere apologies to you and Michel and the security on site that day.

I'd like it if we could perhaps move on in peace.

Thanks & sorry again for the outrageous behaviour.

Assholes don't reflect on past actions, apologize for their conduct and learn from their mistakes, Alex. It takes guts to admit you screwed up and publicly claim it.

Anyone who's unable to see this shouldn't be the ones branding others as asshole, really.

Words of wisdom there, as usual :)

You know what? I'm still hoping to see Noisia in Montreal in the near future. I'm sure the promoters / booking agents will take extra care to prevent any fuck-ups next time around :)

doa thread title should have been "To: Noisia - From: Me - FUCK YOU"
its not like all mtl is backing this up.
shit happens when you are touring abroad and missing a flight is shit also for the artist, but it happens. about the after party i have no clue what was the deal but i'm pretty sure the noisia guys don't have a super star attitude like stated.
just bad luck!
