 Coolness: 76805 | A cola machine has three buttons: a Cola button, a Sprite button and another button for undecided customers that randomly gives you either a Sprite or a Cola. Each can costs one coin.
During the night, some evil cola hating people came and switched all the labels on the buttons so that none of the labels remained in it's original position. How many coins will you have to spend to figure out the proper position of all the labels? its not from me, but pretty interesting :) |

At least, with 3 coins, it's easy to find one of the cola-only or sprite-only (the singular sort; you get the other sort with both other buttons) But then you would have to try both of the two others (getting the same can) until one of them switches (and you know this one is the "random")... and this may never happen. |

 Coolness: 131655 | being a master at "mastermind" 3 if you coin right away the random by blasting it with the first two coin and luckyly enought it serves you two different drink. and then one of the other will give you the proper placement, (birdy)
if that bitch machine random's sticked on somthing, you could spend days if it just doesnt shift. (par) althou if its a random "sequencial" you could expect the sequence trying 4 times. (normal) also you have 3 possibilities that needed to be proven, the prober way would be to test them all 2 times. and hope the random will shift.\ |

1sprite 2both 3coke and 1both 2coke 3 sprite but your problem arises when you try to validate ... okee i got it heheah (wow that was almost fun) if the third button is a coke then your answer is SPRITE BOTH COKE and if the third button is a sprite then your answer is BOTH COKE SPRITE |

Since all labels were switched, you proceed as follows: - Insert a coin and press the label [Undecided] - If a Sprite comes out, then this is the Sprite button You are left with [Coke] and [Sprite] buttons - We know that [Coke] does not correspond to Coke, so it is the really the Undecided button - The left over button [Sprite] corresponds to Coke ... taken from where you copied the enigma |
