Hello,

I found this video: [ www.zeitgeistmovie.com ]

It's long (2 hours), but it explains where many problems of our society are coming from, and what we can do to solve these problems.

Not only are you two years late, it's like the 15000th repost of the link.

And the movie is incredibly stupid :)
I'm feeling repomanish right now..

seriously..

Anyone who's gullible enough to think that ONE movie not only points out all of society's problems, but also provides the solution to all of them, is the kind of person that is the problem with society.

very interesting indeed

the monetary institution did seem obsolete when I first thought about it as a kid, I guess I wasn't so wrong by over-simplifying things

what I find interesting is that they assume technology will be the new savior to end all humanity's suffering although they don't really go into details as to the incentives that are required for humanity to drop the current system

the only plausible incentive would be human survival from either inside factors such as environmental reasons or outside factors like an alien invasion

KAPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Traditionaly, war has always been the thing that's caused technology to evolve the most; computers to help decrypt encoded transmissions in WW2, up to all sorts of new tech that we've got coming up (un-maned drones are doing a ton of damage in Pakistan right now and the US has finally gotten a lazer strong enough to be a weapon, though it requires chemicals and generators that are about 8 shipping containers in size to power)

We started with sticks and stones, got swords and knives, then guns and bombs, now we're making robots and lazers..

The title says "many problems", not "all problems" and so does his post. Why didn't you read his post properly before insulting him?

Financial innovations such as banks, interests, loans, insurance, stocks/shares, etc... helped human progress.

I feel that people who cherish Zeitgeist never picked up a history book in their life or forgot about it.

Zeitgeist is entertainment, nothing more and nothing less, to see anything else in that movie is to be seriously misguided

This film was done by that guy in your poli-sci classes who was trying to get everyone to help him overthrow the government with an exposé documentary. Nobody wanted to help him because he wouldn't stop yelling and ranting, although the people he talked to were willing to debate everything and actually found it quite insightful. So he decided to take his annoying voice and write the whole doc himself after dropping out of a class that was full of "them", leading to a bunch of facts that are somewhat valid ranted about in a totally sophomoric way, making them seem sort of sketchy.

Still, it got me thinking a lot.
I'm feeling mighty frisky right now..

Sure I suppose one can see it that way (it's productive that's for sure). But I think he's trying to say monetary institutions are obsolete at this point in time.

WTF? Bankers?

The only real problem with society is women.
Anything else is a distraction.

On a more serious note, I believe that movies such as Zeitgeist are more of a give-and-take thing. While the whole thing about control and banking system is eye-opening for me, the whole bullshit about Jesus is only one man's interpretation, pushed as absolute truth and without much substance - for about half the lenght of a Movie who's focus should be to "seek the whole truth" and not to believe everything you are told. To this, I say massive fail.

Watching Screwhead's link now. Gosh I knew they'd pull the Satanic card somewhere in there :)

There is only one problem with the banking industry. Because bankers know they are going to be bailed out, they take big risks. They keep the gains, but the government subsidizes the losses. Thus, the government is an insurer of the banking system; but it provides this service for free. The trivially obvious solution is to have governments take a non-dilutive ownership position combined with proper regulation in the banks in return for this service.

On a side note, alex kidd's essential mix - fucking amazing
I'm feeling apathetic right now..
