Japan isn't local?

I'm still pissed that the original sale of Unibroue to Sleeman's was announced on my birthday. One of the worst birthdays ever... and then Sleeman's got bought up by Saporro... at least they haven't completely changed the direction of the brewery.

I can think of a lot of stouts that absolutely lay waste to anything that L'Amère À Boire has to offer... locally... I'd recommend a handful of the stouts at Dieu du Ciel... Grand Noirceur is amazing... and if you're ever there and see that they're serving an aged version... holy shit. I was there during their anniversary celebrations a few years back and managed to get a glass of one that had been maturing for a year and a half... best beer drinking experience of my life.

Saugrenue (stout with cherries) and Aphrodisiac (stout with cocoa and vanilla) are both quite solid, too...

for bottled stouts... the selection around these parts is pretty limited... especially when a lot of the stouts I've tried simply taste like black beers - which should never be confused with stouts! I've managed to track some great ones in my travels, though... Dogfish Head's World Wide Stout is mind-blowing. One of the strongest beers I've ever had (roughly 20%), but it hides the alcohol taste really well.... probably the best bottled beer I've ever had... Stone's Imperial Russian Stout is great... and I'm looking forward to trying sampling the bottles of the Rogue Imperial Stout that I've got in my beer cellar.
I'm feeling new records right now..

I'm not really a fan of the rest of their beer menu... not bad just nothing special... but that stout... i dunno... it taste just right to me

i havnt made it to dieu du ciel unfortunatly... kinda out of the way but i heard nothing but good about the place and its beverages

st-bock serves a good pint too... last time i went i had a stout with a stong vanilla aroma served with a marshmallow in the pint... can't remember the name at all but it was like nothing i had ever tried before

I miss money :(
