| That's an interesting idea, but I must admit the entire message could be costly.
The reason I'm saying this is because I worked for 2 cellphone providers and last I checked, any SMS bundle you might have WON'T work for this. SMS plans are good for text messages from cellphones to cellphones. All canadian providers will charge you full price for any text message originating from the WEB (like in this case).
So in essence, an "unlimited text messaging" bundle is worthless for this.
On the flipside, if you don't mind the extra costs (and usually, web messages are more expensive than regular text messages), I think it would really be interesting. |

Not entirely true. The charge is not coming from the provider. It's coming from the website. The providers protect themselves by saying that since the vast majority of websites that you can subscribe to will charge you for each message. However, as an example, I was subsribing to Facebook notifications by SMS for the longest time and I was never charged a single penny for them, since they offer it as a free service. |
