my point really wasn't about video games, I'm just amazed at the lack of ambition this guy when it comes to actually living life a little. Playing games until you're 40 and then giving up on being fashionable and finally reading a book or two? I'm speechless.  |

Doesn't mean you have to give up what you love to try some new/different things. My dad was born in 1949, so he was in his late teens/early 20s durring the late 60s/early 70s; he loved and collected comics and sci-fi books and was into all the stoner hippy rock music of the time.. Now he's 59 and has a house, runs his own buisness, is still into comics, videogames (started in the 70s, he got one of the first Pong machines), loves movies that are based on super-hero stuff and comics, but he also listens to a lot more jazz and classical now than the rock stuff he grew up with.. doesn't mean he's "over" it, he still loves the music; it's just that his tastes and preferences have evolved over time. Don't wait untill you're a certain age to do something with your life, that's just stupid.. It's like how people do new year's resolutions: Why wait to make a change in your life on one specific date, when you've known all year you need to do something about your problem/situation/whatever? If you need change, change; don't put things off untill tommorow, because there's no guarantee you're gonna wake up. |
